Arrival Story:
UPDATE ..... 12-10-07 - A wonderful family has offered to adopt Gucci. He will be taking a short road trip and meeting his new family in a few days. ........... 12-12-07 Gucci is settling in with his new family. ~ Thank you Deena and Catsters!!! ~................................. ... Gucci and his siblings, Armani and Prada, were born to a feral mama kitty on top of a two story building in Las Vegas. One night a loud eletrical storm passed through and badly frightened them. A nice lady heard their cries for help as they were hanging over the edge of the roof and called a local rescue group. Before help arrived, Gucci fell off of the roof. All three kittens were rescued by sun-up, Gucci eventually recovered from his fall, and the feral mama cat was trapped, spayed, and released back to her neighborhood. The nice lady who phoned the rescue calls her Mama and takes care of her. Prada was recently adopted, and now Gucci and Armani are looking for their special forever home, hopefully together. They have been inseparable. Both are very sweet natured, very healthy, neutered, current on shots, tested negative for FIV/Leuk, and are AVID micro-chipped. Both are indoor kitties only and have excellent house manners. Gucci is a laid back boy who likes to gently play and likes to sit near or on your lap. Because of the fall, he cannot jump too high, but other than that he's fine.

Only adoptable within 200 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada unless special conditions apply. ********************************** ********************************** ****** Here's the long version of Gucci's story and an update on him: Gucci-Goo was adopted thanks to Catsters last December 2007. Deena was doing a search on line for Maine Coons when mistakenly Guccis Catster page appeared. She read about Gucci and phoned me for more information on him. Then she learned of his sibling Armani and fell in love with him too. Her husband was only allowing her to bring one kitty into the household to be a buddy for their other one. I had always hoped Armani and Gucci would be adopted together as they were inseparable. They were born on top of a two story building in Las Vegas, NV. Their mother had been trapped by a TNR group, spayed and was recovering in somebodys home. They did not know the kittens were left alone on top of that building. An electrical storm came crackling and thundering through one night and the frightened kittens began looking down from the roof top and screaming for their mom. A lady heard what at first she thought were birds and went to investigate. She saw the kittens hanging over the rooftop pleading for help. She ran home and called Spay Our Strays , (SOS) a local feral TNR organization which I happened to be manning the phones at the time. She was frantically telling me about the kittens, when she suddenly screamed in my ear. One of them, now known as Gucci, had fallen from the roof, smacked into a tree, and then had plummeted the two stories down to the ground! Knowing that I might be told NO! if I simply called the president of SOS for help in rescuing these kittens, I grabbed my car keys and raced to her home which is in the same town as mine. SOS is not a rescue group, they are a Trap/Neuter/Release program. I thought pleading in person would be better, and it worked! On one of the nastiest nights of the year, ~ pouring rain and lightning hitting so close and deafening loud you just knew it would strike you if you did not have shelter ~ an angel of a man from SOS went out and rescued those furry babies and brought them to his home. There were three of them and they became known as the Couture Roof Babies, ~ Gucci, Prada, and Armani ~ He fostered them for a week and then they were transported to my town where they had believed a foster home had been located. They were mistaken, and I received a knock on my door late that night asking if I could keep them overnight until they could straighten out the foster situation the following day. I guess it was meant to be that I was their foster, because nobody ever got back with me! Lol! So I had three feral kittens in my master bathroom, and not in the best of shape. My brain was screaming, Remember, you are not good with feral kitties! Lol! Armani would spit so hard at me that he would actually propel his skinny self straight backwards in the air! Prada would hold her ground with Gucci tucked safely behind her. She looked like she would seriously try to harm me if I dared to stick my hand in her space. But soon I got my hands on Gucci when she was not looking. He had an infection on his bum that needed to be taken care of and underneath his poof-ball hair, he was nothing more than a skeleton. He had suffered some tailbone damage from his fall and he could barely walk on his hind legs. Once the others saw how attentive and nice I was to Gucci, they soon came around. Their first set of kitten shots almost sent all three of them to their graves. It took a long time to get them well again, and unfortunately in my area and Las Vegas, most people want a 6 week old kitten not a 16 week old shy one. So all three remained un-adopted for months and months. The lady who kindly called me begging for the kittens to be rescued from the roof eventually found Prada a good home. She actually adopted Prada and another foster kitty I had. Then the FLOCK disaster hit and I was pretty much gone for two months helping until Best Friends took over and all of their volunteers arrived. By this time Gucci and Armani were close to a year old. I returned my focus on finding them a home and that is when I was told about Catsters. I listed them and received several inquiries about Gucci, but they were all too far away. I stuck to my - only adoptable within 200 miles. - Then Deena phoned me and Gucci got his forever home. I was worried sick about separating Armani and Gucci. They had been best buddies for over a year and did everything together. Plus the fact that I had fostered them for so long, they only knew me. But, I reluctantly went ahead and drove Gucci into Las Vegas to meet his new parents. By the second evening he was up on their couch watching a movie with them!! And then began sleeping with them under the covers!! They absolutely adore him and he is buds with their other kitty too. Last report I received from Deena, Gucci is now fully recovered from his fall and can jump up on anything no matter how high it is. Hurray! And he now weighs 20 pounds and is still growing. They say he is HUGE, not meaning fat, and they just love him so much. ~ Have a good life my sweet boy. I will always love you. ~
