Pet-Peeves: time in a cage (he is used to having the run of our office space!)

Favorite Toy: not sure - he likes to sit back and just observe everything around him.

Favorite Nap Spot: right smack dab in the middle of the counter of our reception desk, of course!

Favorite Food: soft food only, please - Marlowe doesn't have any TEETH! (which means he cannot transmit FIV to another cat - can't bite them!)

Arrival Story: ***I am very sad to deliver the news that Marlowe is no longer with us. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
Marlowe! A real gentleman with a truly gentle soul!
Hello there! I'm Marlowe and I was rescued from a backyard in Brooklyn. I may look like an intense, street-tough guy but looks can be deceiving! I am one of the gentlest and most loving cat who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you! Unfortunately I've been here for a long time.
I am a complete sweetheart with people and I'm very fond of other cats too. I am approximately 2 years old and I have FIV (a comprimised immune system). But, with a good diet and a loving home, I can live a long, healthy, and happy life -like any other cat. I would be a wonderful companion to another FIV cat or as single cat. Because I have FIV, people are reluctant to meet me, and so it's especially hard for me to find a home. Won't you please come and meet me?
Marlow is a truly rare and special cat. Though he looks like a rough-and-tumble kind of guy, he is an absolute sweetie, and love to be petted and scratched behind his ears. He would do so well in a home (his former foster home said he did wonderfully) and would make a terrific companion to you. The folks at Inifite Hope would be happy to talk with you more about FIV. Please give us a call today and consider helping out marvelous Marlowe!

Bio: Although FIV is definitely manageable, it scares a lot of people off...this is a real shame, because it is entirely possible for cats with FIV to live long, healthy, symptom-free lives with proper care and nutrition. For cats with no other symptoms, and otherwise generally good health, this might simply be a matter of ensuring she gets a sound diet, possibly with added vitamins, anti-oxidants, and Omega 3/ Omega 6 fatty acids, as well as prompt, aggressive treatment of colds, infections, or other conditions as they crop up.

Forums Motto: big old sweetheart!
