Arrival Story:
I had been wanting a cat or a dog for sometime now, but was having problems talking my hubster into it. Our yard is too small for a dog, and he wasn't too sure about a cat. I was surfing one day and found a bengal site, and called him over to take a peek. He fell in lurrrrrve! We looked around a bit more. I was kind of weird about having a purebred; I've only had pound kitties before. He talked to a breeder in Phoenix who had a hard to place little girl. She was sweet, but very standoffish and shy, and would do well as an only kitten. She wasn't mean, just very shy and somewhat introverted. We drove up one afternoon, met "Froopy Girl" as she was then known and she came home with us that very day. She became known as Crash because she still it at the major klutz stage of kittenhood! She either knocked stuff over with a Crash! or failed to stick a landing and toppled over with a Crash! We've had her since she was 5 months old. However, she's still at the Klutz stage. She is still quite shy with strangers (though we're working on it) but she bonded with the two of us right away. She's not a real lap cat, but she prefers to snooze close by to one of us, usually close enough to reach out with a paw and remind us "Hello! Kitty here!". She does like to sleep wrapped around our feet though. She is very affectionate in her own sweet way.

Hello!

First a humble apology from mum: She says "I'm sorry that I haven't updated Crashmonster's blog in, oh months! We've been insanely busy, but now we're back and I'm going to be a real nuisance with the updates!"

Today was an awesome day! Mum has been working hard all week to clean our yard. She had to rake and then weed-whip and then rake some more and bag stuff. It's hard to watch her do that because I want to be outside on my lead and I can't go when she's raking and weed whipping! But today, after the work was done, we went out for nearly an hour. I stalked and pounced and found a sunbeam. She says tomorrow she's going to plant sunshine, or sunflowers or something. Humans are so weird that way. I wonder if I can pounce a sunflower.

You'll never ever guess what I did on Sunday! We were outside again, on the front patio. I was on my lead and mum was sitting in the doorway talking to Sir. While they talked, I stalked a pigeon! And since mum didn't think I'd actually catch it, she had lots of room on my lead. (It has 30 feet to play with) I crept, I stalked, I was sneaky and I POUNCED on the pigeon! Mum was all 'WOW! She got a pigeon!" which surprised me so that I looked back at her and it took advantage of my distraction and got away! I hadn't hurt it, I just sorta landed on it. It lost some feathers too. That night, Mum and Sir checked me over real good to make sure I had no fleas ('cause city pigeons are doity boids, Mum says) and I didn't have any. But I like to be brushed so much that I immediately insisted they double check.

It's been too long!

Hello EveryCat and their Humans!

I've been gone for so long it seems like! I didn't mean to neglect my pages, it just sorta happened. But I'm back.

Winter is turning out to be lots and lots of fun. Today I did something weird called "helping mum wrap Christmas presents". It involves wrapping boxes of stuff in pretty paper and ribbons and putting these sticky bows on the boxes. I'm sure the rest of the Humans in the family won't mind a few fang marks on their stuff. ;) And those bows! It's my job, my solemn duty to be sure they're really, truly dead before they go on a present! I'd hate to have this Christmas thing messed up by a psychotic bow going after our family. I'm just taking care of the humans, like any good cat should.

Also, I've discovered a new game. It's called "morning icy paw!". Basically, when Mum and Sir are starting to wake up, I get off the bed and go into the bathroom, and get my paws nice and cold on the tile floor. If I'm feeling really frisky, I get into the tub, get my paws really cold AND wet besides, and then I climb back into bed to snuggle! It really wakes the Humans right up, right quick! You gotta try this sometime! I also do it during the day sometimes too, just to stir things up.

Hello everycat and all the lovely cat people and the dogsters!

Here's a big old shout out to sweet little honey for my cool rosette from the 11th! Here's honey's page: http://www.catster.com/cats/421752 . And another big old holler goes to Gracie! for my pretty new star! Here's Gracie's page: http://www.catster.com/cats/494353 .

Sorry for the long wait, but last week was a bit stressful at our house, as my last entry shows. I was taking extra special care of mum, being very sweet and loving and silly, and staying up when the insomnia got all bad and icky. Now we're all alot better, except now she's been wandering around all weekend muttering about something called "Jury Duty" and if she can take crochet needles to the courthouse and needing extra books. Why does she want to crochet downtown instead of on the couch where I can help her? Why does she need extra books? She already reads like 5 or 6 a week. She also told the Hubster Sir that if she gets all sequestery, he needs to sneak us into the hotel. I'm so confused....

Mum has joined us to the fine folks at Catster Codes, where she's learning how to code my page and make it all pretty. Do you like my pretty red fall leaves? We don't get many fall leaves in our part of the country, but the Desert Willow sheds leaves a lot and there's a big old pile of crunchy leaves for me to play in out there. I wish the cactus needles would magically fall off and disappear! Note to all young kitties who are new to the southwest: if you bite a cactus, the darn thing bites back! RooOOOwwrrerrr.... But anyway, I told mum that if she could recode my background, she should be able to figure out proper linky things, but whenever she tries to put it in with the proper coding it comes out funnier. So you're stuck with copying and pasting until after the Dread Jury Duty thing is done. Here's the link to the Catster Codes site: http://catstercodes.twilightmoon.net/

Saturday I had some excitement! Mum brought in a basket of clothes from the clothesline. I jumped in right away to be sure that I got my dark colored fur on the light clothes and the light colored fur on the dark clothes. I found a grasshopper that snuck in on the clothes! Of course, I had to pounce and chase and catch and eat! But I don't like to eat all of a grasshopper, they're kinda big (bigger than three greenies put together) and they have some crunchy bits that I don't like. So I saved the crunchiest bits for the Hubster Sir and left them on his computer chair where he'd be sure to find them! He said thank you, but I don't think he ate the left over grasshopper bits....

Have a great evening, with lots of snuggles and purrs! G'night all...
