Arrival Story:
I have been feeding the local strays for months now. I've been dedicating my time, money, home, energy, heart and love to taking care of them as best I can and as much as they'll allow me to, so I'm always keeping my eye out for new strays in the neighborhood, and the little ones that could possibly be caught and taken into a good home before they get too used to the streets and living without (and in fear of) humans. I had noticed rather quickly that my neighbor's porch had been home to/ the main hang-out for many strays, and that there was one big, black cat that had been living beneath the porch and would slip beneath the fence there and come into my yard to eat and then slide right back under to sleep beneath his porch. All the neighbors had been telling me that the big, black kitty was in fact a female momma cat, who had been having litter after litter there beneath the porch for years. My goal was to try and catch her, bring her to the vet and hopefully find her a good home in the future. She was a very friendly cat, despite her situation and hard life. She would allow me to even pet her while she ate on my front steps, she seemed to know that I would not ever harm her, but I also think she was asking me for help, affection, love, a home. I tried once to bring her into my apt, but once inside she attacked my puppy and I had to let her back outside... One night, my bf and I were heading out, and as we were walking to the car I glanced over at the neighbor's porch to see if there were any kitties there waiting for food, when I noticed a tiny, dark blob moving in the grass on my side of the fence. Looking harder I realized it was a dark, tiny, baby kitten! Running through the grass and playing, away from the protection of his mother. I immediately told my bf, and he ran over and grabbed a hold of him. The kitten didn't hardly protest, he tried to make a run for it- but once my bf had him, he simply went along with it. I think he was a little relieved as well as scared. I told him to go over and check the porch to see if there were any other babies roaming around while I asked the neighbor about the kittens possible owners. Looking at the kitten, I figured he had to have been a house cat; his fur was soft and clean, no mites and he didn't seem to be terrified of us. After speaking to the neighbor, we realized these babies must be from one of the most recent litters the big, black cat had- because the man said that the little ones belonged to no one and that he actually wanted them out of his yard and away from the safety of his porch- (he's a very cruel, cold man by the way.) So, my bf ended up catching two that night, but there seemed to have been three in the litter... unfortunately, we still haven't been able to catch the third one :( He's still missing... So, we took in both of them that night and brought them to the vet soon after and discovered that they both have a slight case of feline luekeimia. But even still, they're happier than ever and well fed, warm and most of all, they are LOVED... they're not lonely or lost anymore.

Bio:
We recently have taken in another cat, who decided to walktz into my apt one morning! After spending some time with the new cat, and looking at his face, color and markings- we think that we've found Church and his brother, Sunny's, father!!
