Jackie was in the sick ward of the pound... sure to be destroyed. She sat there, small as a softball, and stared at me through the gates of her temporary domicile. One eye was so swollen and infected I was sure she was suffering terribly. Despite her hardships she sat proudly on her hind quarters and stared at me through her one eye and spoke to my heart. You asked!
