Arrival Story:
While working at the cat sanctuary, I got a call from a young woman with two cats. She was crying. She couldn't keep her two cats, had no place to live, no job, same old story I'd heard many times in my work at shelters. Her story touched me enough though that I agreed to take her two cats until she got back on her feet. I couldn't take any more into the sanctuary, so I took Andy and farley to my home. She came to visit them every now and then, but never took them back, and it's been many years now since I heard from her. Andy's brother Farley died in 2001 from liver failure. I was distracted taking care of my very special kitty Gem who was ill with cancer, that I didn't notice that Farley wasn't eating much at all and was losing weight. He could have lived if only I'd noticed. Andy is the caretaker of the household, he loves each and every cat, and you'll never find him alone in a bed.
