A little bit about my home

My name is Spidey, short for Spiderman. I was named that because when I was a little lass I used to (I still kinda do, but...shhh...don't tell daddy) jump up on walls and the couch and hop off like Spiderman does sometimes. I'm also a red head (sort of). I was rescued by my mommy and daddy at 8 weeks old and was the last of my litter to get adopted out. I came from a terrible situation, I ended up having a scar on my tummy from an accident and now my tummy naturally sags because of it. Luckily, my mommy and daddy saw I was all alone and even though weren't planning on taking me home, did anyway to give me a new loving home. I was so happy because the rescue I came from was terribly unkept and a completely caged environment with feces all over the floor. I got all my shots and am neutered (not that it bothers me any, I like to be social, male or female, not matter what species). I like meeting new animals all the time, although big dogs and their loud mouths scare me sometimes and I won't put up with it - I think its rude!

I stay indoors all the time, think its fine, but wish I could join my neighbor friends who visit me all the time at night outside the bedroom window (oh that pesky screen...one of these days I'll figure out how to open it and go off to party). But being inside keeps me healthy and I respect that. I am harness and leash trained, which I don't mind so much cause I get to go outside and smell the trees and grass from time to time. I just hate it when the leash gets in my face - how irritating. I love cuddling with mommy and I now love sleeping in the pants my daddy wore that day that he leaves on the floor. My favorite toys are my stuffed spider monkey from the San Diego zoo, sometimes I cuddle and bathe my monkey too. But I also love my crinkle balls and other toys my parents get for me. But I get bored with them quickly...sometimes these humans create such unimaginative things for cats like me...but I like it when my mommy creates toys out of random things around the house - its so fascinating and different. I'm a huge fan of flying and hopping insects...I guess I live up to my name...huh? But I love being outside the most when there are crickets hopping around...they are so much fun and such a challenge, but very tasty in the end.

We always have new animal visitors in the house that I get to meet sometimes. My mommy is a professional pet sitter and dog walker here in San Diego, CA and sometimes she has a client guest come stay with us. I like meeting new animals, but mommy won't let me play with any of them unless their parents say its ok. But so far the only guests that are interested in hanging out with me have been those loud barking dogs...even three inches from my face...as if I am deaf...sheesh, those mutts!

Hey what can I say...I'm a cat...and all cats are the best no matter what they say :) ...plus we know how to use a litter box and don't cause problems for our parents as much as those pesky hairy dirty drooly slobbery mutts do! Ha ha!

Well I'm off to bathe myself for the third time today...I like to stay clean...g2g.

Ciao Meow!
