Arrival Story:
I woke up last Sat and had an overwhelming feeling that I was supposed to go to the shelter and save a little kitty's life. I really didn't pick Misty; Misty picked me! She was the sweetest cat ever. Kept rubbing up against me, and as I went to leave the room to see some other cats, she climbed my leg like a tree, as if to say "Please, please don't leave me. Take me with you, I love you". That's all it took. On the way home, I called my vet to let them know I had just gotten a kitty from the shelter and they advised me not to put Misty in with my other cats until they could see her. Well, I took this sweet little darling to the vet yesterday and unfortunately, she tested positive for feline leukemia. I cannot put her in with my other cats now, and am at a loss as to what to do. The vet said I could take her back to the shelter, but they would "put her down". I told him that was not an option. I have to either keep her completely isolated from my other cats, or find her a caring, loving home, where she is the only cat. He said she could live a long life and not show any signs of this for a long time. This is breaking my heart. I love this little kitty so much. Misty is the most affectionate cat I have ever seen in my life. What a sweet, darling little baby she is. She loves attention. She loves to sit on you, or lay down beside you. She is as sweet as any cat I've ever seen. A true gem. I love her so much.

Sadly, Misty went to the Rainbow Bridge May 24,2014. The leukemia finally caught up to her. She was never sick the whole time she was with us. In the end, she went into renal failure. It was less than a week, and we had to let her go. She couldn't walk anymore, and I couldn't watch her suffer. She was the best baby I could have ever asked for. We had 8 wonderful years together. She was 9 or 10 yrs young. We miss her SOOOOOOOO MUCH!! LOVE YOU MIPP!
