Arrival Story:
I was at the barn where my horse was being kept that summer to be bred, and my cousin's ex-boyfriend came to the barn. He had this little white ball in his hand (his family is not partial to animals and we think he was going to leave this 2 week old kitten there to die). He saw us, not knowing anybody was there, and decided to walk over. I kept watching her as he was talking to my mom and my other cousin (the one who later found Misty), and I just wanted to hold her. She was so tiny and cute. He explained that her mommy was changing where she had the kittens, and she was re-crossing the road to get Chloe, the last one, when she got hit by a car. I brought her home, and all summer, I was a mommy for the first time. We were in the process of building a barn for my horse, and so every 3-4 hours I would come in and feed her, play with her, bathe her (I have some adorable photos of that once I find them), etc. When I wasn't with her, I heard her meowing. She was my angel. Chloe was never much of a lap cat, but when I was sick, she would climb up on my lap and sleep. Always happy, always chirping and meowing, all I had to say was one of her nicknames and up her tail would go. She knew she was beautiful, and she wasn't afraid to tell you she was. She wanted to be queen of the house, which is why she picked on Meowy (I think she also sensed how old Meowy was, or is). I put down that I don't know what breed Chloe was, because I know she had some siamese in her, by her demeanor, and her raspy meow. I just wish that we had been able to find her brothers and sisters. It breaks my heart knowing that those poor babies never had a chance to survive.
Bio:
Chloe left me one cold February morning (about 2 weeks before my 20th birthday) of last year, (2006) the same way her mommy did. For years, Chloe would knead blankets while sucking on them, I think because she only had her mommy for 2 weeks of her life. Once I find my pictures, you'll be able to meet Cassie, a kitten we got to keep Chloe company and to teach her how to be a cat. I still think Cassie was Chloe's angel, because at 6 months, when we took them to get spayed, Cassie passed away. It was like God sent her to us just to teach Chloe how to be a cat, and then her job was done, and she left.
