Arrival Story:
Cookie was abandoned at a veterinary clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee, on November 14, 2003. While at the vet clinic, my good friend Diane saw Cookie and discovered that he was about to be turned over to a shelter where he probably would have ultimately been euthanized. (Apparently, Cookie's elderly owner died and no one from her family ever came back to claim Cookie.) Diane called and asked if I might would take him and offered to bring him to me at the cat show the following weekend. Being a softie for white cats, especially odd-eyed ones, I said yes. Diane brought Cookie to me in Memphis on November 22, 2003, and we took him home with us. While in the care of his former owner, Cookie was badly declawed. From time to time, his nail areas will bleed if he bumps his toes too hard on something or if he slaps one of the others cats. :( Cookie has adapted very well and it turns out he's a lap cat! He's a handsome boy with a plush coat. He is such a clown! Oh, as a side note.... Cookie lived with us for almost two weeks before we discovered Cookie was a "he" and not a "she" like we had been told!!
