Arrival Story: We didn't have a cat in the house and we are both cat lovers. We really wanted a animal. Well I was very sick and was home from work for a week with a lot of time on my hands. The computer was my link to the outside world because I had really bad laryngitis and couldn't speak. I started looking at local shelters and rescue places for cats. I found Birch at a SPCA about an hour and half away. As soon as my husband saw him in the picture, we knew he was the one for us! I went and saw him in person and was thinking, "Wow this is the biggest cat I have ever seen!", (being 30 pounds and all). He was so friendly, affectionate and loveable, a real people cat, we had to get him right away. Now he runs the house and it's like he has always been with us. It is pretty sad when friends come over and bypass us right away for him or immediately ask "Where is Birch?". Of course the big ham loves all the extra attention.
Bio: The joke with us is not what do you think Birch is doing right now, but where do you think that Birch is sleeping. We make bets to see who is right when we get home!
On a side note:
Birch has a biological brother named Ash. We are always on the lookout for him. He was at the same SPCA (Tri Valley in Dublin, CA) that Birch was at and was adopted out by the time we figured out that we really wanted him too. So we are always on the lookout to see if he is back there. You never know maybe someday!
HEY...its my birthday....I'm going to party like its my birthday!!
I wonder what my parents are going to get me??? Maybe they will let me get away with anything today....hmmmmm the possibilites!! Well my bro Willie better be nice and do whatever I tell him to do today on MY day!!
Meeeeooooowwww for now!!
Well well it's been a week now since my turf has been invaded by another cat! I know I should not talk like that, but that really made me mad! First my parents left me for 3 weeks, then they get back and bring another cat to invade my territory. I was so mad at them. I tried to make it hard for the other cat by growling and hissing, but it didn't bother him. Now it's kind of ok to have someone around that likes to do the same things that I do. I know that Mom and Dad are gone working and sometimes it got lonely. Now I have someone to torture, eat with, and nap with. Also I think it's so funny that he likes to torture Mom when she has to sleep in the day for work. That is great, now I am not the only one being yelled at! Hey maybe I can make it that he is going to be the one that always looks like he is the bad guy!! Hehehehe that would be great, just like real brothers! Well got to go, there is food to eat and a brother to torture! Mmmmmmmeeeeeeeoooooowwwwww for now!
Hmmmmm what is all this talk around here about a new cat coming to the house??? Well well all I know is that I am older and bigger, so he has to listen to me! Oh boy I am going to show him who is boss. Oh boy what I have to teach him to drive the parents crazy. Now I have someone to blame all the bad stuff on and now I can get away with more stuff. But I think it will be cool that I have a sleeping partner to have around since the parents are working a lot and Allyson (the guinea pig) sometimes is way too spastic for me! Oh all this thinking has made me tired.............nap time! Meow for now!
