Well, it seems that only a few years ago I was uprooted from my comfortable urban private deck and stuffed into a tiny car (at least it was a Jaguar) for a trip across the Georgia Straight to my new home in the country.
Gone were the days of art shows and shared sushi, and it was very strange, at first, having things like trees and things in the way, but soon I found I was enjoying myself immensely in the wide open space behind the house.
And who wouldn't like the abundance of very slow-witted lizards, snakes and even dragonflies which almost seemed to leap into my open mouth. It was paradise!
Even when Holly came along, although she does seem to cramp my style a bit, there was plenty of room inside and out for the both of us.
But now here we am, moved again, for reasons beyond my control...
I understand I'm here temporarily, as the big country house has been sold. The lady who is looking after Holly and I is very nice, although she doesn't like us to sleep on the beds, as is our want. And even though we're once again living the urban life (which is a first for young Holly), spending most of our time inside a snug condo instead of a meandering ranch home, life is pretty good. I've been told that we'll soon be moving again (within a month or two), and that it will be the last time for a while. Whew, that's a relief! Nothing is worse than trying to pack suitcases without the use of opposeable thumbs.
I'll fill you in, dear Diary, when we set sail for our next destination, wherever the heck it is. I hope there aren't any more water crossings; being on a ferry makes me queasy!
