Arrival Story: Penny's owner was depressed. Her cat had 5 kittens (one of them was Penny). She told her neighbor she was going to drown them in a bucket and her neighbor said 'no you are not!'. This guardian angel took the 5 kittens to her farm and asked her friend, Brenda, who owns a vet clinic to help them find homes. The lady took tons of pictures of Penny and her siblings to help find them homes.
Jason's sister, Nicole, got an email from Brenda about the kittens. We adopted Penny, Nicole adopted Bailey and a friend of a friend adopted the little black kitty. Once Brenda found out Penny tested a weak positive for FIV they had the mom tested and she was FIV positive, too. The other 2 kittens tested negative for FIV. Luckily, they found the mom a home with other FIV cats but the remaining 3 kittens went back to the farm. I feel so bad they had to go back.
We named her Penny because she is orange and is very lucky. She has 2 parents who spoil her with lots of love, attention and TREATS! We are lucky, too. We aren't sure what we did before Penny came into our lives. And this is Anne's first pet!
One last thing. Don't feel bad for little Penny. FIV cats can live a healthy life for 10+ years. We pray every day Penny stays healthy.
