(I went into Union Sq PetCo in Manhattan to look at kitties by myself because a blue monkey and a crazy coffee-drinking wombat told me about a cat they adopted there. I went and met all the kitties and became particularly fond of a white calico plump fellow named Jake. The adoption person never showed up that day so I dragged Mulder back over there on Sunday to investigate. They had tons more cats and on the way to show him Jake, he pointed out this adorable plump but dainty tabby cat in her cage. When we put our hands up to the cage, she did everything she could to get as much petting as possible through the cage: head-butting, rubbing, purring, licking. I went over to look at Jake again, but it was too late. When I went back she purred and rubbed some more and I was in love and so was Mulder. We adopted her Sunday. She proceeded to hide under the bed a week.)
