I can now officially change my name from "Lily-Adoptable" to "Lily has a home"!!!!!!!! Yep, yessiree......I think I have found my forever family to adore and spoil me for the rest of my life! I am now the proud owner of a nice couple who just dote on me! I get to sleep wherever I want, there is always someone home with me because they are retired, and best of all....they have a grandaughter who just LOVES to play with me! I am having a blast checking out all the new stuff in my home, I get to sit in windows and view the great outdoors and they don't even mind my rather loud meows from time to time. I am just wacky silly with happiness!!!! Thank you, Forgotten Felines for finding me a very special family!!!! Smoochies, Lily

I have SEVERAL applications to adopt me!!!!!! All of a sudden I am "Miss Popularity"!!!!!!! Suddenly people are fighting over who gets to take me home!!!!! Can you imagine????? Well, who could blame them? After all, I AM really pretty, and sweet, and funny, and wonderful company.......how come it took so long for everyone to figure that out??!!!!!! THIS time my adoption counselor is going to be super duper picky and make sure this is the home for me, so there isn't any of that "return" stuff happening again! On my part, I will try to be extra extra nice and polite (for awhile) so I don't blow it. Keep your paws crossed for me, I will send you a "I'm in my new home" notice as soon as the deal is sealed!!!!!!! Smoochies from Lily

Well, you might have been wondering where I have been.....I am taking a break from Pick of the Litter Thrift Shop and am residing at the manager's home for a while. That's so Forgotten Felines can show off some of the cute kittens available for adoption at the Thrift Shop for the Holdiays. What a deal I've got!!!!! My own "in-law unit" all to myself and lots of lovin' and smoochin' to go along with that!! I have to say I've been given a job too. It's to "kitten sit" some of the foster kittens my foster mom is taking care of. It's a known fact that I am FABULOUS with kittens, and I have proven my skills are very useful when it comes to cleaning, preening, and generally caring for the little bugers.....uh, I mean, kittens!!!! I am patience-plus with a kitten......so that might be an adoption plus if you are thinking of getting a kitten and an adult (beautiful) cat at the same time. Think of it as a built in baby sitter!!!!
Anyway, I wish you all the best for the Holidays and please think of adopting a shelter pet this season.....even if it's not me!!! Yours always, Lily

O.K.....I have a confession

Hi there! O.K.......I have to confess something. I wasn't returned once from a new home........I was returned TWICE!!! There.....I confessed it......it's humiliating and embarrassing, but now I've said it! Apparently no one listens to the Adoption Counselors at Forgotten Felines, who are, by the way, FANTASTIC!!! They want the very best home for me and they take all this time going over my needs and what would make a good introduction for me into my new home......and well, there is always some little blip! THIS last time...........a week ago...........a nice person adopted me and took me to her home where she had another cat!! Now, I thought that maybe this "other cat" thing would work out if we had time to get used to each other, but that's not what happened! We were plopped right in front of each other!!!! Well.....you can IMAGINE what happened, us both being cats and all! That other kitty didn't like me one bit! And.....I have to admit.....I wasn't crazy about her either. Sooooo.............now I'm thinking I'll just request a home without other kitties at all, or at least a very savvy cat owner who knows how to introduce kitties!!!!!
Here's a few other things about myself (you know, in case you want to tell your friends about me). I love, love, love to sit in your lap! In fact, after a tough day at work (yours, not mine) I would just love to curl up in your lap and watch t.v. with you. In fact, when I fall asleep, all you have to do is just ever so gently lift me up and put me in my little kitty bed and I'll just stay asleep.....I won't even wake UP!!! And, I talk! I have a loud meow at first, till I know where you are, then I just delicately chirp to make sure you know where I am! I am a doll, as I've mentioned before, to look at.....so there's no problem there! I hope this info helps in case you know of a good owner who is desperately seeking a deaf beautiful kitty!!!! Love for now, Lily

Someday I'll find a home

Dear Diary,
Not that living at Pick of the Litter Thrift Store in Santa Rosa, Ca. is a bad thing......they all love me there and treat me with the ut-most respect, but I would LOVE to find a place to call home. In fact, I sometimes think that the Pick of the Litter staff would hate to see me go......
My story began when I was somehow abandoned into a feral colony (along with a few other animals, too....) and the GREAT folks at Forgotten Felines went out to check out the situation. Well....there I was, all forlorn and confused and what the heck.......shot with a pellet gun!!!!! ME, darling, beautiful ME, all shot up like some kind of target practice!! Well.....the Forgotten Felines folks grabbed me up right away and took me to the doc's and fixed me right up. And then they discovered I am deaf. (I think they suspected I might be......what with the one blue/one green eye thing). So, they put me up for adoption and I was adopted out to a nice lady. BUT, she didn't really take the time to let me adjust, and she worked all day long and was tired when she got home, and I, being the social girl that I am, wanted her to play with me!! Let's just say that didn't go over too well for either of us and I was returned pronto!!!
So now I am still searching for my new home. I would love to be the apple of someone's eye, that special kitty that someone has been searching for their whole life, and I MIGHT be inclined to share that home with another nice kitty. No dogs, though, I don't remember ever socializing with them and they might scare me. And maybe no young children, either, since I am deaf and they might startle me! Did I mention I am stunning to look at? So, anyway, if you are ever in Santa Rosa and want to come say "hello" to me, please feel free to check me out! I am the gorgeous white kitty in the plush giant cat condo at the back of the store! Pleeeeze do come say "hi"!! Purrs for now!
