indoors Arrival Story: *Update Desmond "Dizzy" Clyde is officially OUR cat now. YAY! And he is perfectly healthy after the news from todays vet visit. We couldn't be happier. (previous entry)
Dizzy is officially our foster kitty. I volunteer for a non-kill shelter and I kept seeing this little guy not getting adopted month after month and after I got to know his personality I had to get him out of that cage and into our home where I knew I could EASILY find someone to adopt him. Which I did however, I realized that something was wrong with Desmond when after a short exertion of play he would pant. And panting in never good. The rescue had me send him to their volunteer vet and she said his lungs looked "murky" and he was put on antibiotics for 2 weeks and sent back for another check-up with the same results. He then went back in and they took some fluid from his lungs to see what is going on. They told me he might be asthmatic? I don't know. Well the supposed adopter was apprehensive about adopting a kitten with potential health issues and that's actually perfect. Because he's not going anywhere. I love this guy. He is the comic relief our family needed. Everytime I see him I laugh. You would have to see his daily antics to believe it. Dizzy has turned out not only to be the sweet faced guy I saw in their month after month, but one of the greatest cats I have ever met in my life. He is hilarious. He came into this house and pretty much made himself comfortable. He had his own designated "foster room" but he quickly decided that that wasn't where he was gonna stay and promtly marched down the stairs to where the other cats were. Much to their initial disliking. HE DID NOT CARE! At first our cats would growl, hiss, swat and gang up on Dizzy . He just gave it right back! Our cats soon learned that they were just gonna have to get over it because Dizzy is seriously fearless and would not be pushed around. He could care less if they wanted him there or not.
He's the baby of the family and treated as such. Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 Forums Motto: What to do? What to do? Gotta go....... Yesterday Dizzy officially went from being our foster cat with potential heart problems to being OUR/HIS owners afrer we signed the adoption papers and then today we went to find out the conclusion from the vet we went and got a second opinion from about the previous health concerns with Dizzys breathing and potential lung issues to find out that he is in perfect health. We are ecstatic to say the least. Dizzy however is mad at me for the shots he had to get and the surprise car ride. He'll forgive me and I'll forgive him for peeing on me:) YAY We love you Dizzy. Thanks for picking us. This is our 6th and final family member,. We are complete and very, very happy.
