Arrival Story:
Back in July of 1975, one of the first cats , Friskey that had dwelled in my owner's home had died. At the time my soon to be human owners had burial plots at the Wantaugh Bide-A-Wee cemetery out in Long Island, New York. My "grandmother" took Friskey's body and made the trip out to Bide-A-Wee to make arrangements for his burial. When she came back, she wasn't exactly alone, for in the traveling case she had, out popped a small grey and white kitten...ME!!...My grandmother had said I was a replacement for Friskey. She had chosen me, she said, since when looking at all the kittens for adoption, I was the one who kept pawing and grabbing at her, as if pleading to her to take him home, and that she did. I was officially named Mickey and I officially came into my dwelling on July 12, 1975. Now you have to realize, that at the time we still had a number of cats, and it wasn't as if Friskey had been the only feline member of our household. We also still had our very first cat, Babette, plus Biddy, Snoopy and Patchouli. Each had their own unique personalities, and were very friendly cats, and got along very well with one another. It became apparent however, that Mickey was a very shy kitten, and bit of a recluse and didn't interact with the other cats. That is until the arrival of another cat on September 15th of the same year.

Well I very quickly learned I wasn't the only kitty in my dwelling as there were a few before me...Babette, Biddy, Snoopy and Patchouli. Babette was the oldest, having come into this dwellling on December 7, 1962. She was a black and white cat, and a bit aloof in personality--Biddy, was friendlier and so was Snoopy. Patchouli wasn't friendly at all, but then I hate to say it neither was I...I was a very shy kitty and didn't mingle with the others. I felt quite alone, even with my human companions, until one day, on September 15, 1975, only a few months after my own arrival, came Tommy, who is with me in Rainbow Bridge as well now. We took to each other like brothers and were seldom apart. Our friendship lasted twelve years until tragically, my faithful friend and companion died on July 14, 1987. I was so devastated! No one could understand my grief, and only a few months later on Novemeber 30, 1987, I decided to join my friend Tommy in the land of Bast and Rainbow Bridge. But don't feel sad for me or Tommy. We're quite happy here. We play together and have fun, and we await the day, that our human companion friend joins us. We still watch over her to make sure she is well and doing all right.
