Boo came into my life in 1996 as an 8-week-old kitten to keep my first cat, Emmett, company. It was a toss up between Boo, who clawed her way out of my arms and up the ficus tree, and her little brother, who laid placidly in my hands and looked up at me peacefully. I needed a challenge, I guess, but she has turned into the sweetest and most loyal cat I could have imagined.
