Arrival Story:
Our sweet Al passed away on 04.02.05. He died of sudden renal failure, and we miss him terribly. I'm so thankful to have the ability to preserve his memory here on Catster. He was a wonderful, beloved friend and forever there will be a hole in my heart for him...as I was a guardian for him, now he is a guardian angel for me. ----------------- I worked a temp job for a privately-owned construction company, and Al was the owner's "company cat," who always kept *me* company. The owner lived at the lake most days of the week, so I got concerned about how often Al was left alone in the "office house." Eventually, the owner had realized he didn't have time to properly care for Al anymore, so he asked if I wanted to adopt him. When I brought my husband over to meet Al, Greg fell for that cat instantly, especially because of Al's husky meow. He and Greg are best pals.

Bio:
Al is all male, very brash and brazen. His meow is really raspy, so we joke that he was once a "chain-smoker." He's got gorgeous green eyes, and the most expressive face. He's really taken to "MacReady" lately, hurling himself onto the floor, and trying to snuggle with him. Those two are just hilarious together! Otherwise, Al only gets along with "Sprite" and quite reluctantly. Somehow, she managed to woo him into snuggling on the couch together every so often, but you can almost hear him say, "Hmphf!" when she inserts herself into the snuggle-equation. Otherwise, he hates everyone else in our feline family. He loves to do what we call "The Flintstone Flop." He gets really excited to be around us, sending him into an excited "flop" onto his side, exposing his trusting belly. He's so pudgy and fluffy, it's quite comical watching him stomp around the house like a T-Rex. His tail is long, scraggly and emotive. It does the funniest "expressive" flickering when he's curious or happy. Al is truly one-of-a kind, and just melts both of our hearts. When he's naughty, it's because he's stubborn and cranky and it always makes us laugh! Whenever I'm sick, he finds a way to lay next to me or on top of me, and it always makes me feel better because he's so soft and has a deep purr. He's Greg's "TV and Snack-Time" pal. They always bond like the men of the house that they are.
