Arrival Story:
I was part of a wild litter that was born in the sewer in my neighborhood. A neighbor caught all my brothers and sisters and found homes for them, but I could not be caught. My humans slowly won me over by leaving food out for me. By the time I felt comfortable enough to let them get close to me, I was already pregnant (I was only 9 months old myself!). I gave birth in the woods and one day during a thunderstorm, I carried my babies across the road to the porch of my humans' house (see bottom photo at left). When the babies were old enough, my humans found homes for all of them. My humans tried to adopt me themselves, but I was too scared to stay in their house, so I continued to live on the streets and to stop by the house for occasional meals. In a matter of months, I was pregnant again. This time the humans brought me into the house and taught me about the litter box. I gave birth to my second batch of kittens in their bedroom (see them with me in the top photo at left, when they were one week old). The humans helped me raise my babies and found good homes for them, and adopted me for real. They took me to the vet to get spayed, so my kitten-producing career is now over. Now it's all about me!
