Arrival Story:
We adopted him from a shelter in Florida. When we found him, he was friendly as long as we left him in the cage, but as soon as we tried to take him out, he tried to shred my arm! We managed to get him into a carrier eventually, though; since then, he's hated being caged or confined in any way.

Bio:
Zippy is a chewer...if it's vaguely stringy, he'll chew it. We've learned the hard way to put our shoes out of his reach; otherwise, he'll chew through the laces. He likes high places, including the 7-foot bookshelf in our home office. Like our other cats, he likes to drink water directly from the tap. Unfortunately, Zippy also sneezes. A lot. He apparently had a bad respiratory infection as a kitten, and it damaged his sinuses. This basically means we find cat snot in the most interesting places (eww!). But if we hadn't adopted him, he'd probably be dead by now, since I suspect that no one else would have taken a cat who's always sneezing. Zippy is the most insistent lap cat I have ever had. He'll curl up in any available lap...usually when you're busy and don't want to be bothered, of course. At night when I'm knitting in front of the TV, Widget and Zippy arrange themselves on my stretched-out legs and sleep all evening.
