I'm olde furt of the month for February

I suppose I can now let the cat out of the bag I am olde furt of the month for the month February.

I love olde furts and the mates I've made since I joined. It is truly a great honor. I want to thank PixieBelle and the other olde furts for picking me.

I thought I better write about it in my dairy as not all my friends are olde furts.

Here is the interview I did if anyone is interested in reading it.

AN INTERVIEW WITH KA-ZAR!

PixieBelle: You're in the middle of summer now (in Australia), which makes many of us other Furts rather jealous! What are you doing in the warm weather that you especially enjoy?

Ka-zar: I have chair just outside the front door and when it nice and warm I love to sit in it and catch the sun rays. I also spend a lot of time outside keeping my Grandpa company while he reads the paper or a book.

P: Your Catster biography says you're a kitty who really enjoys human company - even the human kittens. Are you still playful with humans, or do you prefer just keeping quiet company with them?

K: I still love to play when I'm in the mood and it does take my humans by surprise a lot. I like to play with stress balls with them. I get them to roll them around for me and I hit them back to them. Mum reckons I still have my inner kitten.

P: MOL you are just helping them de-stress!

You are currently an only cat, but have you ever had any fur siblings?

K: I've always been an only cat.

P: Do you have any opportunities to hang out with other cats?

K: I don't get much interaction with other kitties unless it that orange stray that keeps coming around trying to claim my turf. Mum gets worried if we get in a fight that I will come off second best as I'm not good at the paw to paw combat.

P: You and your family have lived in a few different places. Which home have you liked best?

K: We lived in small country town in the middle of nowhere with the biggest backyard. I loved living there as they were plenty of places to wander and I was free go to where I wanted as long as I came in when I'm called.

But to me the best places I've lived are those where my family is. Because I love them very much. We've moved four times and they never gave up on me and I thank them for that as I could've been homeless at anytime.

P: I don't think they'd be proper family if they left you behind! But you're right, some kitties do have careless humans who would do that.

I notice you are a box-loving kitty. Do you have a favorite box, or will any box do?

K: I don't have favorite box. I just like to try out any boxes that are brought home by my humans. I think this started with our first move and it's something I've never lost.

P: Do you have any other favorite places or furniture, or a special hangout in your house?

K: I love hanging out in my mum's room. She's says it hasn't been her room for a long time and it's our room. It's nice and quiet and has a really comfortable bed to sleep on. I also like to sit in the windows at night and watch the wild life as mum won't let me out at night. Also in my mum's or grandparents' beds.

P: What does being an Olde Furt mean to you?

K: I love being a part of the Olde Furts community. It's nice to have friends my own age to share the good times and bad. The sad part of being a olde furt is when you have to say that final goodbye to a great mate. But they are never gone furever, they become your great angel mates. It's hard to put into words but I'll say this - Olde Furts means a lot to me.

P: Feel free to add anything else you want your fellow Olde Furts to know about your life!

K: Here is my gotcha story. My mum found me or I found my mum at the animal shelter when I was 8 weeks old. I was the runt of the litter and no one wanted me. I was a week from being sending to the bridge, and mum came to the shelter looking for a kitten.

As luck would have it I was the only kitten in the shelter at the time and the attendant showed me to mum. Mum picked me up and I started play-biting her fingers and looking at her with a "please take me home" look.

Mum reckons it was love at first bite and agreed to take me. I couldn't go home with her until I had my grapes stolen but two days later I was at my furever home. That was 13 1/2 years ago.

I just want to thank you for making me furt of the month I feel so honoured to have this honoured bestowed on me. I hope I live up to it.

It's been a while

Just got reminded by my good mate Kaci that it's been a while since I last wrote in my diary.

I want to apologize to all my mates that I may have worried about me. I am doing great and so are my human family.

My Grandpa has been cleared of all the nasty things the doctors thought might be wrong with him last week when he went to the surgeon. Turns out that the artery they thought was blocked isn't and went to the eye doctor today and was told there is little change since he last went to see him.

I've been spending a lot of time outside on my chair just hanging out, sleeping and catching a lot of rays. It been really hot here lately and I even get to share the fan with mum at night.

Mum been working really hard lately and my catster time has been very limited as a result. Mum needs to go to bed early and at the moment is sick with a virus. Catster doesn't seem to wake up until about 11pm our time and it too late for mum to help me.

I want to thank Kaci for her concern for me. She is one of the sweetest girl kits I know. Also Kaci thanks for helping me get mum to write this diary as I thought I was going have to resort to wacky paw to get her to help me.

Well that's all my news for now. Going outside to catch some more rays.

Happy new year to all my mates

It January 1st 2012 in Australia and nothing much has changed. It a sinking hot day and I've spent most of the morning outside on my chair have a nap and taking in some rays.

Sorry if I've missed anyone achievements in the last few days. We had uncle Al come stay with us and he's one of the few people I don't mind coming to visit and then mum's net connection went bonkers last night. Hoping all was was system over load from people on new year's eve.

Just wanted to wish all my great catster mates and their families a happy new year and I hope 2012 is really good to everyone. It great mates like you that make catster a great place to be.
