Today is my 8th birthday!

Hi all!

I'm turning 8 years old today! MomKatt says it's hard to believe. I was in a bad way when they got me at the Caswell Co. Shelter in Yanceyville NC - I had herpes bad in my left eye and I was pitiful. But they saw beyond my bedraggled state, especially when they heard my story (see my page if you're curious). Stoopid, mean old lady - she couldn't see how beautiful I was, all she could see was money she felt she'd lost. My life wasn't worth anything to her. But it was to Dad&MomKatt ... so when he suggested they adopt me, MomKatt agreed and I've been his girl ever since, in a happy, loving home (except that Peppers chases me all the time .... GRRR)

So ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I'm NOT happy right now

My left eye hurts. Mom&DadKatt asked me what happened, and I can't tell them 'cause I don't know, but I heard Dad tell Mom he was calling the V E T today at work to make an appointment to take me in tomorrow! Oh noes! They're going to stuff me in that carrier ... and I HATE the carrier.

But they saw this morning that my left eye (which was the one that had herpes in it when I was a kitten and which has been mildly cloudy ever since, though I see fine through it) was closed and, when they got me to open it, it was all red around the rim and VERY cloudy.

*sigh* I guess this will mean eye drops. I don't LIKE eye drops.

I'll try to be a good girl - I'll update you on this as things happen.

Our first date!

Teddy's been my boyfriend for a little while now but we've not been able to get our schedules together to go on an honest to goodness date. Well, we're going TONIGHT to the Black Cat Appreciation Celebration put on by my sisfur, Morticia, and her group, BCCP!

I can't wait! And he wants to smooch me! *(blush blush)*

I keep wondering about that Teddy ....

He's so sweet. I really like him. I think he likes me. I think about him a LOT and am always happy when he Pmails me ...

Am I rushing things? I haven't said anything because, of course, a lady NEVER makes the first move ... but ... heck we haven't even been on a DATE or anything!

Maybe we're both a member of one of the same groups - now that it's spring, maybe some group will have a "spring social" or something ...

WELL ...

One never knows what a day will bring. I just got a lovely rose and an even lovelier Pmail from a nice black panther boy named Teddy ... He, like me, has lost his sweetheart (Stormy - her meowmy apparently went to the hooman Bridge and, while Stormy is hopefully still with us, she's no longer around on Catster). I, of course, lost Mittens all that time ago ...

*sigh* I never really thought about it much, but I guess it might be time to move on. I miss Mittens a great deal, he was such a sweetheart and I have regretted the times we didn't get to spend together before he was so suddenly taken from me. It was very sad ... but Teddy seems quite nice and is a gentlemancat so far. So ... let's see what happens. At the least, it's ALWAYS good to make a new furriend, isn't it?

Today is my 7th birthday!

I'm 7 years old today. Seems like yesterday that lady turned me into that shelter wanting me put down just because my eye had some problems. But I got a wonderpurr home with Mom&DadKatt and I'm his "special girl".

I plan to spend the day ... sleeping.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I'M 6!

Today is my 6th birthday! Happy Birthday to me! At least that's what MomKatt figures is the date - she uses the 1st of Nov. 'cause it's close enough to when they adopted me so that she can remember! MOL

I'm getting extra treats in just a few minutes!

I'm so lucky to have my pawrents and be here for my 6th. It could have turned out quite differently so, for any of you reading this, and I know all of you already advocate this, adopt your next feline friend at the shelter. You'll get a cat grateful that you saved its life and one who'll give you life-long devotion in return!
