Arrival Story:
I found a different cat online and my husband and I went to Pet Smart intending to meet him. That cat had zero interest in us, but Munch (then Mahoney) came over and instantly was attracted to my husband. He jumped on his lap, put a paw on either side of his neck, and kissed his chin. He wouldn't leave my husband alone...and he is so cute, there's no way we could turn him away! He assured us we'd made the right decision when he tried to follow us out of the shelter! He was delivered to our home a few nights later by the wonderful volunteers at Hope for Animals.

Bio:
Munch was found in a parking lot in Staten Island by a really nice human who lived near our neighborhood. Although Munch was healthy, the man already had some animals with medical needs and couldn't manage more pets.

Munch is named after the Detective played by Richard Belzer on Law and Order. It's one of our favorite shows. He's grown into the name though, "munching" on any and everything he can carry around the house.

Continued Alien presence

Things are getting even curiouser. I can't put my paw on it, but I have the feeling that more Aliens are on their way to our place. I just don't know who opened the door and let these Aliens in. Where have they been all this time? Why do they have to come here and eat our food and snuggle with our humans? I suppose it's not terrible -- we do get EXTRA treats now almost daily, and lots and lots more huggles than ever before.

Also, Mommy sort of seems to realize how bad I felt when she took away my box to give to that "Foster kitty" so she gave me another one and Perri and I share it, which is REALLY cool. Well, we take turns in it, anyway. There's really not enough room in there for both of us.

Mommy was sick this weekend but now she's better and Daddy has a bad cold. I've spent most of the day just itching to make him better by licking his chin. I'm just counting the catnaps until he comes out of the bedroom and onto the couch, where I can begin my therapy!

Alien?

Mommy brought home something inside the carrier yesterday. Perri wasn't sure what it was but I know it's an Alien. It's this weird, fuzzy, grey wobbly thing. Sometimes it chirps.

I'm sure it has secret plans to infiltrate our food supply, but Perri is less suspicious. She hasn't caught a glimpse of its odd, tiny body yet. It's obviously trying to look like one of us, but on a much, much smaller scale. And those noises! Sometimes I lose my train of thought and think there's a wounded bird somewhere in the house and I run around looking for it.

If Perri is not suspicious, Mommy is downright suckered in by its fuzz. I hear her cooing and smell lots of food being prepared in the room where the Alien is.

Perri and I got into a cool wrestling match but my eye kinda hurts since then. Mommy keeps pestering me five times a day to squirt something awful into my painful eye. I wish Daddy were here to defend me!! But, Daddy is on one of his "trips" for "work" and I'm just not getting the cuddling I've grown accustomed to.

All of this activity has me really wound up. I prefer to sort of peek out from under the dining room table of late. I never know how long any of this 'change' is going to last!

One thing's for sure... It's not easy being the cat. Especially when you know the Truth about Aliens!

Shoelaces are fun

for some reason they're sort of off limits. I find them simply facinating though, and I MUST dig them out of their shoes if they're tucked inside. They can run but they can't hide from me!

There is a new box in the house. It's big enough for me to lay down in and maybe Perri too. But Mommy turned it over. She said something about it being a Foster cat's box. This sounds suspicous to me. I don't want anybody else to use my box! It's purrfect for me! I spent a lot of time sleeping in it the other day while Mommy and Daddy watched TV...until Daddy came over and sat next to the box so I could jump on his lap.

Even boxes don't rank over my Daddy!
