Arrival Story:
Late last year I decided Mr Bates needed a Friend, so a visit to the Ballarat Animal shelter was required. They had 3 Cats, a manificant Black Long Hair who just sat in his basket & watched, a titanic old Black Short Hair who at 8 years old was to old & a large, skinny somewhat ugly Ginger Male who on seeing me threw himself at the bars of his cage chirping & mewing to me. On being allowed to handle the Ginger Tom he promptly bit my nose then kissed me, THEN very gently held my right eye with his fangs & licked my eyelashes, a most interesting first meeting, anyway $85 late & the as yet un-nammed Ginger Cat was mine, on returning to collect him naturally I had to think of a name & based on the circumstance listed above + I'd just finised a review of a book dealing with the real Vlad Tepse [ who as you may know is the GENUINE Dracula ] I chose Mr Vlad Tepse as a name for my new Furrrrry Man. WHY did I select Vlad?, easy the black long hair just stared at me & made no attempt to communicate, the other one was far to old & Vlad "sold" himself to me.
