indoors Arrival Story: Omar and his brother Frank were Jason & Jill's wedding gifts to each other. Lives Remaining: 7 of 9
Omar was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure back in April 2007. It was a very difficult time as he lost almost three pounds and almost died. He was in the kitty hospital for just under a week and his brother Frank missed him terribly. Today we are enjoying Omar every day we have him. After a few set backs wherein we were sure we were going to lose Omar and the vet telling us that he only had a few weeks to live, Omar has gained back all of his weight and is eating and drinking very well. He even finds time to play with his brother Frank. We are continuing to give him subcutaneous IV fluids every day - which he doesn't care for - but he has gotten much better about not squirming. He always knows when it is time for fluids and lets out a couple of cries just to let us know he is not happy about it. It has been over sixteen months since we were told he would only survive a couple of weeks and we continue to be cautiously optomistic that he will continue to maintain.
