Our New Home

Well here we are in Saskatchewan, & it has been a very trying time for a cat. First my humans left me at Margo & Tabitha's house for 17 days & then they brought me here to this new place that has NO STAIRS! So it is very hard to find a place to hide when there are scary things going on. I have been introduced to some animals they call COWS & there are 4 other cats who live outdoors here who come & sit under my windows. Especially a calico who is very noisy, she will sit & meow at me & I get very upset & hiss at her.

I wonder where all the houses & people have gone. It is a LOT quieter here too except for the huge birds that they call geese that have been flying over the house all day for the last couple of weeks. That kind of scared me at first till I got used to them. The good thing is that mama got a new computer desk & now there is room that I can lie on it when she sits at it. Sometimes I even get up & walk on the keyboard just for fun.

What's happening??

There seem to be some strange goings on around my home, lots of strange people coming & going, (even when my people are not at home!!) boxes being filled with my owners things & generally it is all very upsetting! I have taken to following mama around & not letting her out of my sight. She has told me we are moving to a new home & she hopes I will like it!! They are doing something she calls "retiring", I sure hope it is something good!! She also says I have to go & stay with Margo & Tabitha for awhile again! I don't really mind that but it always takes me a couple of days to get used to the way the 2 of them want to PLAY so much. And just as I get used to it, they come & take me back home again!

Warm & Cuddly

I got a new bed for Xmas & despite my mama/owner thinking I might not sleep in it, I love it!! You can see me in the photo all curled up in a little ball, nice & warm. I think I like it because the winter is very cold up here in Northern Canada, unlike what I was used to in my former home on the West coast. It sits by mama/owners computer chair so I can sleep in it & every once in awhile, when she is at the computer, I can reach out my paw to remind her to pet me.

I really really don't like snow! A few days ago my mama/owner opened the patio door & let me sniff the outdoors & the wind blew a whole lot right in my face! I sneezed & ran upstairs & hid under the bed! It was cold & nasty!

My new friends

A couple of days ago mama put up the bird feeder & now I have some exciting new friends! A couple of blue jays come every day & taunt me through the patio door. Then we have 2 squirrels who run & jump in the most fascianting way, making me run from window to window, up the stairs & down. There are lots of tiny little birds too, they are the ones that make me chatter & that makes mama laugh, cause I seem so funny to her when I do it! Mama says it helps to keep me out of her hair, I am too busy to follow her around the house dragging my toys, trying to get her to play with me. And I am sleeping much better at night, because I am exhausted by the time all my new friends leave in the early evening.

Now if I could just get mama to get up earlier to open the drapes so I can see out the patio door earlier in the morning, (like at daybreak!!) I would be so much happier. I have to sit there & meow REALLY loud & usually she just ignores me & gets up in her own sweet time!! I have to run upstairs & jump on & off the bed a couple 13 times to try to get her up, & STILL she ignores me. Maybe I will have to try the claws to get her up earlier!
