Arrival Story:
In spring 1990, when we were living in Germany, I saw Mietzi scurrying around our back house.
She was very malnourished and shy, so I started to feed her. After a few weeks Mietzi slowly trusted me.
I then had her fixed. My vet said she had seen hard times, and was about 3 years old. She was our first cat.
Bio:
In the beginning, my husband insisted that she needed to be an outside kitty, because she was not litterbox trained.
So, as soon as my husband would go to persue his many hobbies, like boating and tennis, Mietzi came inside.
After a while, hubby got used to her. She would always tell when she needed to go, and meow by the door to be let out.
At night, she was used to staying outside, and also when we'd be gone for several hours.
Sadly, we had Mietzi for only one short year.
One day we came home after a trip to the city, and I called and called for her. She did not come.
I saw my husband talk to the neighbor, and he walked over to me and said that Mietzi was dead. I did not believe him, but the neighbor had told him she had been run over by a truck, and she had tossed her into out garbage can.
He led me over to the trash can, and lifted the lid and I could see Mietzi's little paw. We all cried, and he took her out, and we gave her a decent funeral in the backyard.
A week later, we adopted Mipette - we could not live without a cat anymore. Mietzi was our little trail blazer.
After I made a page for Mietzie, she joined the rainbow bridge kitties group. And - who would have guessed - at a Catster wedding she met her CUTE!!! and handsome boyfriend Boots. ( Catster number 541332 ). They are planning to get married on 3/29/09.
NEWS FLASH!!! Mietzi and Boots have adopted 4 babies. They were born to Tutti's family and 3 of them came to the rainbow just a few hours old. The wee one, number four, Little Betsy, lived for a little longer than a week before making his final journey. It was so sad. Tutti's mom worked so hard to keep Betsy alive, but it wasn't supposed to be. Now they're all in the loving paws of Mietzi and Boots and are growing every day. Their names are Bianca, Betsy, Cookie and Grayson.
