It has been two weeks now that I have been missing.

Mom and Daddy had just moved us into our new house and I had only been there a month. I am an indoor kitty and the only time I spent outdoors was many years ago when I lived in the woods before I was rescued.

Mom and Daddy opened the front door and in an instant I darted outside. They called for me to come, and I almost did, but being how everything looked so differant, I took one confused glance at the front door and then ran into the woods.

There has been much construction going on around us, tractors and noisy machines non stop every day.

Mom and daddy are heartsick and have been putting out food and have even baited a trap hoping to catch me. I am a very good hider though, and especially when I am frightened.

Please purr that I can find my way home. Thankfully I was just at the Vets so I am up to date on all my shots. It is time for my flea protection though. I hate itchy fleas so I'd better get home soon. I am also micro chipped so that is also a positive thing in case I get picked up. Thats all for now, Sophie

We are so sorry to hear that you are lost but we think you are scared and probably hiding not too far away. Please tell your parents to put up flyers everywhere they can think and maybe even put a litterbox outside with some of your used litter in it. Or even a favorite toy or blanket. Sprinkle catnip outside as well! Maybe they can walk around with a can of treats to shake so that you can hear them trying to find you. Please find your way home! Your family misses you very much!

Sophie still has not come home, We have set up four differant feeding stations and have installed video cameras nearby to film. So far we have only seen other cats, and a couple of 'possums. We will try spreading some catnip around.

Sophie has always been a very shy and scared kitty, especially around other people. I can't imagine her being the type of cat that ends up at someone elses house getting fed.

I feel that she is nearby and is afraid of the new house and maybe even afraid of us because she does not comprehend us in this new enviroment.

I don't think she would end up that the old house as she was always an indoor kitty. I hope she does not try to make that journey. It is over 30 miles away.

I miss her soft purr, and her big jumpies to give me head bonks.

Keep up the hunt! She could be hiding under a house or car or in a bush somewhere. A woman in Joplin a victim of the tornado found her cat several weeks later hiding. She came right out after she heard her voice. Don't give up! Do you have any of her or her siblings used litter you can sprinkle around your house?
