Her human, and sleeping on "her" pillow, tucked under the blankets to her chin, next to her human's face; also likes chin rubs, sitting on her human's shoulder, and being carried around.

If her human rolls over at night and dares not to take her, and her pillow, with her... and readjust the blankets, thank you very much!

Arrival Story:
Mitsu was born one week before I got married -- December 21, 1985. My first siamese was very ill, and would soon die... and I wanted them to meet, just one time. So Mitsu came to live with us, and my first cat, Kitsu, died the very next day. Now my Mitsu is over 18, and showing her age... But she is still beautiful and my sweet girl. No other humans exist as far as she is concerned -- just me! I used to do rescue fostering, but Mitsu "put her foot down" so to speak, and demanded in no uncertain terms that this must stop. So I did. I started a geriatric cats list on yahoo when I couldn't find any lists to talk about issues with older kitties. It's helped me learn more about talking care of my "geezer meezer" as some folks call her. As she has aged, she hasn't gone grey, but she has gotten lighter and lighter as the color fades from her mask.

Mitsu has a true blue siamese voice -- clarion, baritone and LOUD. She is very conversational, and will reply to questions too. She also is very descriptive with her meows, and I can usually tell exactly what she is asking for. My husband laughed when he watched her wake me out of a sound sleep with her yowling, and I jumped from the bed with my eyes still closed, and apologizing, said.... "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry - I'll fill the sink for you right now." She sometimes yells for me to bring her *back* from the sink too! LOL. UPDATE: Mitsu almost died in Sept. 2004 from high blood pressure. She woke up one morning and was blind! My vet recommended euthansia, but research led me to find treatment -- and now Mitsu is better than ever! If you cat is over 8 years old, DEMAND a blood pressure reading, and if they can't, go someplace that can! Hypertension is a common killer of older cats, and the first sign is often sudden blindness. But almost NO vets test for it! Mitsu has her sight restored, due to Norvasc medication, and now she is doing even better than she was before this happened. I had no idea of any of this until it happened to Mitsu. Please -- have your older cat checked! 2005 Update: Mitsu has now almost died on 5 occasions... blood pressure, complications of chronic kidney failure, mini-strokes... yet she keeps coming right back! One of these times, we know we will lose her. But for now, we cherish every day. 4.12.05 - Mitsu is failing... very badly. Finally - finally!! - we discovered a real, treatable problem... low potassium. However, I'm afraid too much time has gone by, and that she can not recover. She is down to just over 4 pounds, and she will not eat. I have to syringe feed her everything now. I have always said it is about "quality of life", and at the moment she has very little of that. She has gotten better so many times, it is so hard to know when to say - WHEN. I think we near that time. Keep her in your positive thoughts... and maybe send some my way too. This is so hard, to consider this for my dear friend.... April 15, 2005 -- Today Mitsu left this earth. I love her and miss her so much.
