Arrival Story:
We adopted Dickens from the adopt day at our local petsmart. It was mostly his name, Dickens, that was telling me that he was meant to be ours. It was a word my grandma used ALL the time and as a kid I always thought she was silly. We weren't sure for a while if our home was right for him, but the longer he's here the more he know he's where he's supposed to be.

Bio:
Dickens doesn't have a tail. When he was brought in off the street to the rescue place it had been so severely damaged they had to amputate. It doesn't bother him any. Although he does seem to think that everyone else's tail is a toy. I always say Dickens is more like a dog than a cat sometimes- he loves to be doing what you are doing. Thus his nickname "CatDog".

Dickens' Mom:

It was a normal day, came home from work, said hello to the cats, let out the dog, got the mail, went through the mail, fed the cats, fed the dog, go to bowling.

Came home from bowling, let the dog out, was going to close up the house for the night- by boyfriend went to lock the front door, happened to look out the window and saw Dickens' face, thinking it was just a reflection until he looked down to the floor and there was no cat there.

He was looking in from outside... what?!
How did he get out there? How long had he been out there?

After opening the door to let him in, he seemed okay, just really hungry. Not too cold, and his feet seemed okay after being in the snow... yes, snow.

I know you like being outside D, but really?! It is frightening to think what might have happened, and boy are we glad nothing did- and that my boyfriend actually noticed him and realized he was outside. Just greatful this morning to have him to come wake me up and follow me around the house.

All is back to normal, and I just wonder what kind of adventure he must have had out there- guess he probably enjoyed himself!

Dickens says: "Hahahaha!"

Happy Birthday To Me!
Today, I am 1. (I guess)

Not sure exactly what day, but this was 6 months before the day I went to the vet with my mom so it's what we're gonna go with!

So, Happy Birthday To Me!
Can I have my treat now?

I looooove being outside.

Lately mom and dad have been letting me outside- well, leaving me outside after I sneak out after the dog. I'm so glad that dog has to go outside all the time, 'cause then I get lots of chances to sneak out.

But it feels so good! Even in this cooler weather... I love rolling on the driveway to scratch my back. Chasing after leaves and bugs, jumping through the flowers and stalking in the taller grass. I keep trying to climb the tree- although I can't get a big enough run-and-jump to reach the top, and since I've only got my back claws, I don't get to far - but I'm gonna keep trying, darn it!

Anyway, I love the fresh air, but mom says she's happiest when I come home. I guess I like that part, too. Getting fed and watered. And then I usually thank mom by rubbing my face in hers and curling up to have a nap, and boy to I sleep good. Mom says pretty soon I wont want to go outside, something about snow or something? All I can say is "yeah right!"
