Heat ~ be it laying in the sun or trying to sit beside the stove to catch any heat radiating her way.
Not much, Portia is pretty easy going about everything. She stress mows her belly but we have yet to figure out what stress she has in her life.
Portia can make a game out of anything! Her latest is a game called "chair" whereby you run your hand under the mesh of the seat and she runs around like crazy chasing it.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Basically, anywhere there is a human body or her sister Tasha.
LAXATONE!! Portia would eat it 24/7 if she could figure out how to open the tube. She tries to convince us each morning that it is her day for Laxatone.
Gnawing Tasha's eyebrows off on a regular basis leaving only stubble. Runing at about 100mph from one end of the house to the other after leaving a deposit in the litterbox.
I was searching on the internet for Blue Mink Tonkinese and started corresponding with a breeder in California. She had two sisters available so we frantically worked out the arrangements to ship them to us [did not want to do this but after I saw their pictures I wanted them so much]. Long story, lots of paperwork but they flew LAX~JFK where they spent the night in the animal facility and then travelled JFK~STT. We went over on the ferry to pick them up and ran into a mountain of red tape. I went to the ramp and crawled up the ladder and saw the girls. My husband says they knew that I was coming to get them because they never took their eyes off of me. Luckily, a man went to find a person who actually loved cats and she helped us through the mountain of paperwork and then we were all on our way home, by ferry and car, to their new home.
Portia was the runt of the litter [Little One] but she was the most vocal of the two and constantly put her paws through the cage to convince us to let her out. Even though they were born on the same day, Portia was half the size of Tasha when we brought them home. Today they are both the same size.
Portia is a certifiable Nutbar but we love her. Portia is always in search of a game and it doesn't take very much to get her going. She is convinced we should all be up at 0600 every single morning. If we aren't waking up, she begins to bite my husband's feet and looks up to see if she is getting a reaction. This is the only time she licks anyone but for some reason, she wants to lick eyelashes [she knows how to get a reaction]. Portia can purr for hours on end and couldn't be any happier than sitting on her Daddy's chest while he reads and constantly pets her. Portia and her sister get along most of the time as she defers to her alpha sister. Sometimes, she does try to assert herself which can be utterly hilarious as Tasha looks at her like she has gone mad and walks away. We aren't sure what is going to happen if we ever leave the Caribbean because of the two cats, Portia is the one who feels the cold the most ~ it can be 80F outside but she will insist you lift the covers of the down duvet so she can get underneath ~ when she comes out later, we swear there is steam rising from her head. Portia makes us laugh all the time.
