Arrival Story:
PorkChop was a stow-away kitten when his stray mother was brought into the vet clinic. The people who trapped his mom didn't know he was in there! He was teeny tiny, sickly (he had giardia), smelly, and crusty. He was NOT the cutest kitten you've ever seen! Because he was so sick, he had to stay in the bathtub when we couldn't watch him. Shortly after we got him, we moved cross-country with tiny chop in a box. He has been a little "off" ever since. He appears to be insane, but in a good kind of way. He has a god complex and is the ruler of the roost, the terror of the two much larger dogs, but occasionally we get to see his soft & snuggly side too. PorkChop died suddenly in early March, 2005. We found him on the top of his cat tree in the middle of the night. it looked like he'd just fallen asleep up there in his favorite spot. The vet determined post-mortem that he had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He seemed to feel good and spunky right up until his death. He left us with a big hole in our hearts and in our home, but he also left us with a lot of laughs, smiles, and silly stories. Hug your loved ones today.
