Arrival Story: Grover was a pound cat. I got her when she was 11 months old. I picked her after three hours of trying to decide on a cat because she kept reaching her paws up and "hugging" me. When I brought her home from the shelter, after she had been spayed, she immediately pulled out all her stitches because, apparently, she was allergic to the sutures. So she had to have emergency surgery (on a Sunday night) to close up the gaping hole in her gut. That was one of her nine lives right there.

Bio: Grover lived a long time with me. When she was about 15 she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and not long after that with a mass on her liver. She lived another two years on medication, but when she got to be so sick and frail that she wasn't enjoying life anymore, I had to make the terribly painful decision to have her euthanised. She was one of the most affectionate and placid cats I have ever met. Grover gave me 16 years of joy and companionship, and I hope I gave her the same.
