Arrival Story:
Last October, my husband was in the garage watching TV and in came a little long-haired, orange/white tabby, apparently looking for a meal! He was about 6 months old (guestimation) and very skinny. He had on a flea collar but no ID. We'd never seen him before so we figured someone must've put him out and he found us! He was skittish of people, but warmed up to us quickly. We started feeding him and he just stayed around. I wanted to name him "Pumpkin" because he came along in October, but my husband didn't like it so we call him "Rusty". We installed a cat door so he can get in & out of the garage and made him a warm bed on the couch where he slept just about all the time until Spring came. Now he sleeps in various places, but his food/water is always in the garage. He ventures out into the other neighbors' yards, but never too far from home. He is a very smart boy and loves to sit on your lap. He's a big talker too... he'll greet you with his raspy mew whenever he sees you!

Rusty has the most beautiful copper eyes that match his coat. He has the sweetest disposition too... my 2 indoors cats don't like to be picked up and they won't sit in your lap, but Rusty is just the opposite! He loves to sit under the bird feeder, all crouched down in the grass, just waiting... here birdy, birdy! I fear him being outdoors, but that is how he came to us, and my indoors cats would not get along with him. So we just take the best possible care of him we can.

The last time I saw my sweet boy was Sunday, July 30th..

He was an outside cat but never roamed very far from home. He just disappeared without a trace. I searched high and low, printed out flyers, looked along the road, pretty much anything I could think of. Alas, no Rusty. :(

I believe a coyote is the culprit.

R.I.P. Rusty.. Mama knows what happened and I love you.
