Arrival Story:
After loosing my last cat ( "kitty") to cancer, I thought I would never have a pet again. It was too painful to loose her, but after a few years had passed I felt like something was missing in my life. It took me awhile, but I finally realized I NEEDED a cat in my life again. My last cat was a stray who followed my mom at work, so I decided to adopt my next cat from the local no-kill shelter, also because I like the "tough" personality that some stray cats seem to have. The cat that I wanted to adopt was already adopted, but they had some new cats that had come in so I looked around. That is when I saw this cute kitty unhappily sleeping on the ground. They told me that her first owners had her declawed (terrible!) , and put her in the shelter because she didn't get along with their other cats/pets . Three months later she was adopted by this elderly lady who brought her back after a few weeks because she said she had developed and allergy to her. The following month back in the shelter she had lost weight and had other problems due to depression. If ever there was a cat that needed me as much as I needed her it was Mimi. I adopted her and changed the awful and mean name her owners had given her ( Jinx ) to Mimi, based on the way she meows. The whole family loves her. She is now a very happy, very healthy, very loved, and pleasantly plump cat. :)
