Arrival Story:
Adopted along with Harry from an acquaintance. Richard's talk show host name was "Richard Bey." I liked the Richard but not the "Bey." Harry was somewhat named for Harry Truman, as I was reading David McCullough's biography at the time I got the kittens. Richard Nixon died around the same time, so Richard Nixon the black & brown tabby became.

Richard died in my arms on Feb. 3, 2007. We euthanized him to end his suffering. He likely had lymphoma. Richard elicited my mother-in-law's true feelings about cats when we stopped in Tennessee on our cross-country drive in 2000. Alice claims not to like cats, but when we gave Richard his kitty thorazine before departing for Virginia, she saw his poor face and drawled, "You spit that out, Honey!"
