indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: Ethel was dumped in our neighborhood when she was pregnant. We fed her but could never catch her. She eventually had her kittens but still only came to our yard for food. Then one day she came right up to me and it was obvious that she had been hurt. Her front leg was badly swollen and infected. I was able to pick her up and take her to our Vet who cleaned and drained her wound and put her on antibiotics. The next day, she brought us her only surviving kitten, Sydney. The Vet believes she sustained the injury trying to protect her kittens from dogs but could only save one. Bio: Ethel is still very protective of Sydney and although she is still wild, she does let us pick her up and we did get her spayed and her shots.
Ethel has lost both of her companions, her Sidney was killed by a speeding car and Jake, her male companion was killed by Pit Bulls. Due to this, she has become more willing to come indoors which is a big relief.
We had to euthanize Ethel in December 2007. She had throat cancer and was quite miserable. Her Vet said there was no way to save her. Lives Remaining: 6 of 9 I've Been On Catster Since:
