Likes:
GOING OUTSIDE (once allowed, then forbidden once road and neighborhood were extended), FOOD, small defenseless animals, his little "sister," petting/snorgling, me (I think)

Pet-Peeves:
Any observable cat that is not Blondie or my other cat; his nightly asthma medicine

Favorite Toy:
It's funny. He was so playful his first two years. At age 2 he got asthma had had lots of near-death experiences and visits to the vet. He never regained all his playfulness, but every once in awhile, he shocks me by batting at a toy.

Favorite Nap Spot:
He sort of gets a "place of the week," especially if it is something novel, like my setting up a new chair. Otherwise, he favors "crossroads" in the house, e.g., the junction of the kitchen, living room, and stairs, where he can keep tabs on everything.

Favorite Food:
all of the above

Skills:
turbo-purring

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
We built a new house. I was told I must keep it pristine for at least one year. Accomplished. Around my birthday a year later, June, we started visiting various local cat adoption places. Went to a pet store, where they have a kitten room with jungle gyms and a glass front. Played with various kittens. Some were aggressive, so were avoided. There were three nice yellow tabby siblings. The girl was already spoken for; two boys were available. We exited, at which time, Blondie stood against the glass and looked at me. We drove away. I said, that is the kitty. We returned and adopted him, eight weeks old. What drives me crazy is, should we have adopted his brother as well? Where are his siblings and cat mommy now, and would he recognize their scent? Then, six years ago, "we" became "me," as guardian.

Bio:
At a few months of age, I realized Blondie was going to grow to be a BIG kitty, his legs were so long. He is my grand champion 18-pounder, with the strongest, loudest purr-box east of the Mississippi.

Momma's Boy:
Big old kitty that he is, don't tell any of the neighbor cats, but: he is a momma's boy. That is, in his big, 18-lb. glory, he must frequently climb on my tummy when I lie in the couch, knead the unfortunate squishy portion of my stomach, then lie down and alternately open and close his front paws while purring furiously. It's best to have a durable fabric between me and him at these times, or else he will make claw holes in my shirt and/or me. At any rate, it's gratifying to know that this one creature in the universe apparently loves me.
