indoors Arrival Story: I opened up the garage door and seen something dragging it's self across the street. I walked over to see a tiny baby kitten pull itself with just it's front legs. He was so scared and tried to put his ears flat to hide in the grass as I walked to him. I picked him up and took him into the house. Well calling the vets I feed him wet cat food and he just smoked it down. When I talked to one vet they thought I should put him down. That is not what I wanted to hear. I then took him to an old cattle doc and he told me that his tail was broken in 7 places and pelvic was also broke. He had the fur tore off of one of his back legs and hip. He also told me he wouldn't have lived another day as thin and helpless as he was. With a four month ordeal of nursing him back to health he started to walk. He can't wag his tail and his hide legs are fixed. He walks like he has a stick tied to his legs but that is OK. He doesn't mind at all. I ended up naming him Smokey because something really smoked this poor kitten and the way he ate. If he was stomped on or ran over I will never know. I do have Smokey on a diet but with little or no exercise it is really hard, but we are doing it. He will run for a few yards and then fall over. It is so hard for him. Bio: Smokey is scared of the door bell and strangers. But once someone is here for an hour he will streak across the floor as fast as his little legs can carry him, just like" Hey! I'm here." We laugh at the silly kitty. Not long after that he is on the guests lap purring. UPDATED! With over a year on his diet he is now down to the right kitty weight!! Go Smokey, You rock!! I've Been On Catster Since:
