Jack The Cat

Vet appt.

Took good ole Jack to the vet today for his final kitten shots. He got his rabies and FIV shots. He's laying next to me snoozing. He gets this way after he has his shots, but the vet says it's normal. He is all over his cold and is doing a lot better. All we have left to do is get him fixed and he'll be all done for a year. He's a great kitty and weights 5 pounds now.

The great big world

I finally have a chance to write this down. A couple of days ago Jack decided to take a little walk outside. The door got left open because trash was being taken out, and he decided to explore. It was really weird, because when we first got him he hated outdoors. He was scared to death of outside; so scared that when we took him to the vet, we would have to wrap him in a blanket. Now I think I will have to get the flea and tick stuff and a leash so he can explore without getting lost. I'm still not sure if I want to or not.

My Sick Day

Jack had to go to the vet today. He had been shivering and had goop coming from his left eye. He also slept all night, which is not something he normally does. The vet took his temperature and it was 103. A normal cat's temp is 101, so his was slightly elevated. She said he had a upper respiratory infection and gave him some antibiotics for his eye and then something for his temp. Normally he is up and playing as soon as he hear somebody in the morning, but not today. I was really worried, because this is his first sickness and he's only 4 months old. Also because he never goes outside and has all of his recent shots. The doc said that as long as he keeps eating and drinking, he should bounce back quickly. Right now he's sleeping and will probably do that for most of the day. Here's hoping everything goes smoothly.
