Mommy's been talking about this cat Oliver for over six weeks!
Today, I finally met him. . er, uh, "it" today!
See, for seven weeks, since about a week after Thanksgiving, Mommy's been taking this heavy Schwans bag to and from work every day. I like to bat and lick at it, to just get a glimpse at what's it it. But every time I do, she pushes me away and says NO! And all I've seen coming out of the bag was bits of yarn that she says gets all over her work area and even at home!
Finally today, I found out, Oliver is a latch hook rug!
It's a rug with a pic of an orange kitty, much like my Leo, sitting on a fence, with one paw hanging down like he's gonna jump off. To see a full pic, you'll have to go to my sister Sandy's page, cuz tonight when Mommy finally opened the mysterious Schwans bag and took out "Oliver" Sandy was the first to walk and sit on him!
I will have nothing to do with him, at all!
Mommy did a few rows here and there at home, but she did most of it at work, and her coworkers were very tolerant of all the stray yarn roaming around, but they wanted, as much as Mommy, to see the finished product. So, today at 2:00 p.m, she finally finished it. Oliver didn't receive a round of appaws or anything, but everyone was happy to see the full picture, also happy that the yarn was going bye-bye!
Mommy's glad she's done too, she says working on the rug and answering phones and typing all at the same time is hard and kinda stressful, she's got a sore back, plus, since she can't see as well as most, those little colorful squares are hard to find the right color for, and to follow the paper color instructions .. wow!
She's glad she's done with Oliver too, all she has to do is bind the rug, but she HATES doing that!
There's another rug that she can do, it looks like a version of the American flag. that would be good to send to one of the troops in Iraq! But she loves hooking, so she went on Amazon again, and looked for one, it was two kitties sitting on a fence in the moonlight.
Bummer, it's out of stock, but she preordered it. It kinda made me think of Leo and me, cuz one cat was orange, but one cat was gray and black. I think a calico cat on a rug whould take a lot of colors!
