Arrival Story:
We found "Bailey" at the HoboCats adoption spot in a local pet store. Bailey/Phantom was used in a Veternary Tech training program at a local college. Students would practice restraining the animals and giving them shots. We fell in love with him on a Thursday night and took home the adoption papers to fill out. First thing Saturday morning we were up early and off to get our cat. We took Bailey home that day and he promptly disapeared for much of the afternoon and we could not find him anywhere. Hence the new name Phantom, which we elongated to Slim Jim Phantom Rocker after the band Stray Cats.

It was a challange getting Phantom to warm up to us. He came out after a few hours of hiding in the closet on that first day and has never hidden since. Because of his past Phantom did not do very well with hugs and squeezes and we were told needles were definately not his thing. He would scratch and attack if you touched his hip or tried to rub his belly. We are happy to report that we are now able to pick up Phantom anytime and squeeze and love him and he totally trusts us completely. We have progressed to belly rubs! Sadly needles are still a huge challange for him and last we took him in he promptly broke two syringes and ran off with a needle stil lin him. He seems to like dogs, other cats and LOVES PEOPLE. It is amazing how social he is, the life of our parties! He loves spending time watching water and people in the bath tub. He LOVES the car and is a well travelled kitty. We love to sing to him and Phantom usually likes to sit in my husbands lap when he works on music. Our favorite song to sing to him goes like this....EVIL KITTY, HE'S THE KITTY, THE KITTY WITH EVILNESS! My husband also sings him to sleep.

What I Did to our Dinner Guest Last Night....

Auntie Tiff and Uncle Paul came over last night for dinner. Things were great, Dad made a white wine and wild mushroom soup and pasta with chicken in a sun dried tomato cream sauce. I don't really go for food like that, I like my dry kibble thank you very much, maybe a bit of turkey and cheese too. Everything was going fine until my Mother told Auntie Tiff it was ok to pick me up. I don't know what happend but next thing you know I almost took out her right eye and left a four inch bloody scratch on her tummy. I just had a little PANIC attack, that is all! Of course Mom was all mortified and ran off for hydrogen peroxcide and anti bacterial cream, as IF I was some sort of leper. It was her fault anyway. She forgets I don't like to be picked up by any one but her and my Dad. So now she is running around and calling me her "little devil" and wants me to sprout red "angel" wings. And of course Thumper is now her little angel, it isn't too bad though. I still get lots of head butts and snuggles from her. This morning we watched tv together and last night too! I got lots of treats too, so things can't be too bad. I think we need to send Aunt Tiff some flowers at work tomorrow though.....

Wow, what do I write? Didn't do too much today. Not too much excitement. That Lady finally cleaned all the stuff off of the futon in the art studio and I have way more room to sleep. Breakfast was a wonderful blend of the same stuff but what the hey, I love the stuff. Wrestled with Thumper for a while, boy does that boy have a lot of energy. Slept in the living room on the Ikea chair. Snuggled with That Lady and That Man on the couch after dinner tonight. Ohhh we had chicken pate. Yum Yum. Didn't do much else except listen to That Man work on music. All and all it was a good day.
