Her bottle and her "surro-mom". Me, unfortunately... it made it so much harder to see her go.
She didn't really have any.
She never had a chance to play.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Being held by me... or on her "mommy", which was actually a stuffed teddy bear.
Wrapping me around her little paw
Kamea was found by an MLGW employee under a bush. She was all alone without a mom in sight and he was afraid that she would be killed if she stayed where she was. She was only 2 days old when she was found, but has by far been the healthiest kitten that I have ever had!
When she's old enough to be spayed and receive her vaccinations she'll be available for adoption.
Kamea went to the bridge on August 9th, 2007. She stopped eating the night of the 8th, and by the afternoon the next day, she was having difficulty breathing. When we took her to the vet we discovered that she was anemic, and the anemia was causing her to have problems breathing. The vet thinks that she most likely had FeLV and that she has been anemic the entire time she has been with me, but that she "snapped" and her fragile body couldn't handle it anymore. She is, and always will be incredibly missed, and loved beyond words.
I love you sweet girl!

Just a little note about my Spay & Neuter graphic...For those of you that know my Mom, you probably recognize the kittens that are on this graphic. You probably also will notice that the kittens pictured are no longer with us, and that this is simply only a fraction of the little ones that mom has lost. The kittens in these pictures all have their different stories, some shorter than others, some more heartbreaking than others; all avoidable had someone spayed or neutered their pet. Some people fight and say that spaying and neutering cats isn't "natural", but neither is a 4 week old kitten dying of respiratory failure, or a 15 week old kitten that has beaten all odds and is suddenly taken awayafter suffering from seizures. It is never a matter of "just one litter", you have to also look at the big picture and realize that for every kittens of yours that someone "adopts" is a kitten that is waiting in a shelter that will not get a forever home, or an animal whose time is up... Maybe they would have been spared had "just one litter" not been born.
Please, do as the graphic says, Spay & Neuter your pets, save lives, and save rescuers the heartache of seeing even more additions added to the bridge too early, when doing something so simple could have prevented it.
