Returning to normal...

Ah yes, the house is finally returning to normal! The kitten and Coco FINALLY seem to be settling in.

Sure wish I could play on the new gym. Sniffing it and listening to Annie and Coco play on it sounds great, sigh. Being blind is just not fun.

Since I no longer can get onto Meowmie's lap, nor am I comfortable on it when she puts me there (because I can't see) I am VERY happy to report that Annie is on Meowmie's lap all the time! She purrs REALLY LOUD! So that is nice for Meowmie that the new kitten is so very affectionate. She's a good Meowmie. The kitten does need to learn to keep the paws off the keyboard though. I don't remember it being so hard for me or Coco to learn! Could be my memory though...


Well it is fall chilly here, but Meowmie has set up a small heater fan in front of my blankets. Think I'll go lay there for another nap and dream of all the things I used to be able to see...

Kitten, oh my!

What a rough month our new kitten Annie has had! So many medical problems and they seem not over. It worries me, I never had kittens with such issues.

But I must say she is a feisty one. I can hardly believe she has been having medical issues because NOTHING seems to slow her down! I hear the word "NO!" almost constantly from my fur parents and I do the same by batting her. She jumps, bites, destroys all that is in her path. Fur Mommy says she needs kitty Valium so I suggested catnip. It always puts me in a mellow mood! PURRRRRR!

Unfortunately the kitten sniffed it a couple of times and then went back to running, jumping, playing. Good news is I didn't waste the catnip and rolled in it luxuriously and afterwords...whatever the kitten was doing didn't phase me...think I will ask my Meowmie for more! PURRRR!

I do have to bat her a lot to stop jumping on me and biting my neck...gentle bats, but she plays rough! Meowmie has so many claw marks and bites, she looks like she has been in a knife fight...I can't see them but I can smell all the injuries. In 100 degree weather she is wearing heavy jeans and long sleeves to protect herself...sure hope the kitten calms down VERY soon!

New Kitten

Well, Meowmie and Purdaddy brought home a new kitten today. I sniffed her all over and cleaned her a bit. She seems too young to have left her kitty Mom. I know, I used to be a Champion Queen in my heyday and had several litters. Poor little kitty. I will do what I can for her, but because I can't see anymore it is hard for me to look out for her. But I can hear her in Meowmie's office so I have been staying fairly close in case I can help. I know Meowmie will do the right things, but there are some things that only a cat mommy knows about.

Old is not purrfect!

Well, ancient age for this diva has caught up to me. I now cannot see anything! Plus my sense of smell is gone too, meow!

So I now can't jump on anything or harass the young Siamese housemate, Coco.

My furparents are dolls and make sure they make sound when they move so I can follow their voices. They made a nice cozy bed on the floor right in front of a little heater for me (I seem always to be cold now). Mom sits on the floor to pet me as I get frightened now to be in her lap (might fall, can't see).

One advantage is that I have to mew ever so slightly and I will get fed (by hand even) if I am having too much problem finding the dish.

The groomer says I am still beautiful, but I no longer can gaze at my splendifurous reflection. The vet says I am fine, just old age.

Just not as fun as it used to be. Though Mommy did buy me a beautiful soft pink bed jacket that feels good, soft and warm. She said I look beautiful in it. Certainly hope so!

Well Mom tells me that Spring is coming...I both like and hate the thought. I like it because random moths and butterflies will get into the house for me to play with. I hate it because my winter coat will be shaved off and I just don't feel like my beautiful Diva self for awhile. You see I have all undercoat like cotton candy and I can't even groom it! So it gets like this wool rug and all stuck, no matter how much the groomer and Mom brushes me. Such a sad Diva story! But all and all it will be ok, for now I am still enjoying snuggling by the fire place.

Well Mom is busy decorating...that is what she calls it...I just know there are lots of lovely boxes to pounce in and investigate. For some reason she objects to me on the tables...I need to see what she is putting on them closely! Geesh I'm an old cat and don't see like I used to! She should understand.

She has been turning on my special kitty heater for me because it is getting cooler. I like that...and snuggling under the covers with her!

Purr...

4th of July coming!

Mom brought shrimp in the house for her 4th of July party. YUM! I will be petted and feted by many throughout the event...purrr....life is good!

Grooming

Well my people took me for grooming again this week. I normally like it except for the first grooming in Spring when my winter coat has gotten so thick that it has to be shaved. I, of course, am now just freezing and can't let a soul see me...what would they think? I look like a poodle cat, geesh!

The good news is that my people let me sleep under the covers with them during this time and make me special warm beds and put on a tiny heater just for me that I can lay in front of and give me lots of extra treats to sooth my stress.

It is so hard staying a beautiful diva...

Ah spring...lovely weather to lounge in the windows and gaze at the birds. I do think my humans should bring me a few...I mean I just want to play with them!

It was good going to the groomer's this week. I love to get fluffed and puffed and they show great admiration for me which is totally appropriate. That other cat who lives here of course never goes to a beauty salon, but then, as I have mentioned before he is a bad representative for true royal felines.

Ah...my humans are serving me up some shrimp...I believe I will grace them with my presence...

Holiday tid bits

Valentine's Day was purrfect. My people gave me tuna and new catnip in my toys...ah it is wonderful to be a Diva. The other cat that my people insist on keeping, Coco, was not impressed...he doesn't even like catnip! Such an uncivilized cat. He's all happy about the Saint Pawtirick's Day event and is babbling about snakes, wearing leprechaun hats...oh my. I just hope my people do some decorations with grass and baby's breath...nice treat that would be...yumm...of course then again, I wonder what leprechauns taste like and if they will bring me some...
