Arrival Story:
I brought home Brucey Bruce from a rescue organization for my first Norwegian Forest Cat, Sally. Brucey came with the name Scarlett and lots of drama issues. Since she didn't respond to her name, we renamed her to Brucey Bruce. She actually responds to the new name. She still has all the drama of a "Scarlett" though. Over the years, Brucey and Sally have come to tolerate each other...barely.
Bio:
Brucey Bruce isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but she is affectionate, in her own way.
Her big sister, Sally, has taught her lots of basic stuff even though Brucey doesn't want to learn. Or maybe that stuff doesn't fit in her sleepy brain. I don't know.
Brucey Bruce does not have good kitty skills. Sally taught her to use the kitty litter correctly. And to clean herself up at least a little. Thanks, Sally.
Sally tried teaching her to play but Brucey doesn't quite get it. Brucey kinda gets crazy by herself but doesn't know how to interact politely with other cats, dogs, or people.
Sally taught her how to use the scratchy post and the scratchy box. And the addictions of catnip....
Even the dog cuts Brucey Bruce some slack. It's that obvious Brucey Bruce doesn't quite get it.
Brucey crossed the bridge on 9/26/2008. She was in the late stages of FIP. Rather than have her suffocate to death, as was most likely, we humanely euthanized her.
