On Friday, I went to the vet's to pick up a bag of Royal Canin SO dry food for Merlin. One of their techs put the bag around back for me as I had parked in the back thinking that all front parking spaces were taken. Anyway, there was a nice gentleman there who offered to carry the bag to my car, and when he saw how badly I walked, he helped me walk down the long driveway to my car. He then went back to get the bag of food and put it in my car.
You're probably wondering why I'm posting this on Yingy's page. Well, this has to do with Yingy, so please read on . . .
This gentleman and I talked for an hour outside my car about our arthritic problems and other health issues that seniors get. We then got on the subject of cats. He said he and his wife had many ferals, fosters and house cats, and were with a cat rescue group. He also said they lived near me and he told me where. Then it all came back to me; his wife was the lady who helped me trap Yingy back in September 2007!
She's the one who lent me the trap and told me how to do it. I then delivered Yingy to her and she took him to my vets to be neutered. What a small world!!
I told the gentleman that I tried my best with rehabilitating Yingy and how my giving him T-touches and massages worked to help him trust me! I also mentioned how he bonded with only Sampy who is 1/4 Siamese! I told him Yingy had to be given away to another lady as he occasionally beat up Bailey Gray Cloud. He fully understood my reasons for doing this. He said he'll ask his wife if she remembers the Siamese she helped me capture to get neutered.
Anyway, that's about it. I just thought I'd share this adventure with everyone.
I hope Yingy is doing great with his other Mommy. I haven't heard anything so I assume everything is fine.

I'm writing a short note because I'm thinking of Yingy at this time. I'm hoping that he and his second Mommy have enjoyed the past year and a half together.
Yes, it's been that long. I gave him away some time around Memorial Day in 2008 just before I went on my Colorado vacation.
Here's hoping that 2010 is a prosperous one for both of them and they have a loving and tight bond in the many years to come.

It's been exactly one year today that I turned Yingy over to his new Mommy.
I still believe my decision to do this was in the best interest to all involved, including Yingy, himself.
He needed more TLC and one-on-one with a new Mommy who didn't have other cats for him to compete with. I know he was an alpha cat and so are Bail and Merl. That's why it didn't work.
I pray that the past year with his new Mommy is still going great, and that he'll never have to roam the streets again looking for his next meal and someone to love him.
That's about it except I've found another pic in my computer which I'll be loading up this weekend.

The other day, I was looking under the bed for a ring that I had lost. I didn't find it. Instead I found tons of mousies, balls, and feathers. Amongst the stash of toys apparently left there by Yingy when he had this room, I found a folded over sheet of paper. Scrawled on it in cat lingo was a poem apparently written by him:
THANK YOU MOMMY
I'm beginning to see a newness in me
It comes from inside and it doesn't want to hide
I feel if I dare
I could go somewhere
With my life I say
And I'll start today.
I cried when I read it. Yingy was grateful for my rehabilitating him and was afraid to show me the note.
I know he came a long way from the streets and I did rehabilitate him as much as I could. Sometimes I feel badly for my losing patience with him because of the fights, and other times I'm glad that I turned him over to a more loving and patient, younger woman who had no other cats.
All in all, it worked out for the best. I saved him from the elements and the street life, and had him neutered. I paved the way for him to continue his journey with his new Mommy toward receiving more TLC and attention.
Anyway, I thought I would share the poem with everybody/everycat. This can apply to any stray who is getting rehabilitated or even a human being who has had a rough start in life.

I wish Yingy a very merry Christmas with his new Mommy. This will be his "first" Christmas in a loving home.
He came to visit me last Christmas and wouldn't let me pick him up to bring him in. I got to feed him and then he was running around in the neighbor's front yard. There was one snow storm after Christmas and he survived that.
I know he got tired of being cold and lonely, and let me bring him in on January 5, 2008. He lived with us until mid May 2008.
Because he never got along with Bail and Merl, he had to stay in my bedroom when I was at work or out of the house. He was allowed many intro-sessions, some being a couple hours long in the end. Easter Sunday was the turning point when he got into a violent fight with Bail and Merl had to break it up.
I know I made the right decision as Yingy wasn't happy nor were Bail and Merl. The stress was too much for all three to handle, and I was pretty much stressed all the time having to see these awful fights.
Anyway, I wish Yingy the bestest Christmas with his new Mommy. I know she'll give him lots of love, presents, and treats.
The last time I heard from her, she said he was doing fine; he had learned to trust her and had adapted to his new home.

Twice I have seen a siamese cat in my neighborhood while I was on my way to work. The first time he/she ran in front of my car and I had to brake suddenly.
This cat made it safely to the other side of the road, sat down in one of the yards, and watched as I slowly drove my car past him.
I thought of Yingy and wondered if this cat was one of his children. This cat looked like a feral as I believe Yingy was.
The second time I saw the cat was about a week ago. He/she didn't run in front of my car. It had already crossed the street when I had seen it.
Lastly, I haven't heard anything more about Yingy. I'm hoping everything is going fine. He got what he always wanted (to be the only cat, to be loved, and to be the center of attention).

I noticed that Voki is working again.
On behalf of Yingy, I'm thanking MITTEN'S and KINSEY for their Happy Birthday Voki's to him on September 4th.
It's a bit late as I was unable to tell who sent them. Now I know their names, even though I'm uncertain which ones as there are possibly many MITTENs and KINSEY's on Catster.
Thank you so much, girls/guys!

I wish Yingy the happiest birthday ever even though he's not living with us.
I wish him the best of luck with his new Mommy and many, many more enjoyable birthdays with her in the future!
I thank Samoa and family for their cute little card and grape drink for him. I thank Edgar, Emily and family for their kind words and shrimp. I also thank two unknown kitties for their Voki's. Our Voki's won't play for some reason.
Yingy was a "one of a kind kitty", and I'll never forget the affectionate, loud purring Meezer that he was when he was content.
He has come a long way since the streets, and as of mid-June (the last time I heard from his new Mommy) he was doing fine, coming to visit her while she watched TV, singing/talking a lot, and enjoying his new cat bed.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR YINGY!
Love,
First Mommy

I put the top ten pics of Yingy on his first page. This is our family's theme for September.
These all depict how handsome this cat is. Enjoy!

I found four more pics that I had sitting in the computer. Since Catster has allowed up to 100 pics for Catster Plus persons, I loaded them up.
These were taken while Yingy still lived here. One is of he and Sampy during another introduction session. I believe this was taken some time in February or March 2008.
The one with Yingy and Merl laying together was taken in late March or early April 2008. I also took a nap on the same couch later that day. Both boys took turns laying at my feet.
Of course, the other two were taken some time during March or April.
Enjoy!
