Arrival Story:
Baby was adopted 3 or 4 months after we adopted Mal, from the same shelter in Chicago. The original plan was to adopt four cats and name them Malevolence, Corruption, Pestilence and Ruin. We only got to two, and since Baby was adopted as a kitten the "Baby" name stuck. Who wants a cat called Corruption, anyway? Pestilence would have been a better fit for him, as the nickname "Pest" really fits.

Bio:
Baby was the runt of his litter, and abused by his litter mates. It shows in his adult personality - he's constantly asserting dominance over Mal in various ways, and even controls the human members of the household by waking us up when he sees fit. After having him for over 10 years, I finally had to have him declawed in the front when he nearly took out a friend's eye after the friend picked him up. But since the declawing, he's been perfectly happy and has even calmed down a bit. He's truly a Jekyll and Hyde cat - calm, loving and cuddly in the mornings and at bedtime, but a holy terror the rest of the day. We love him all the same. The wounded photograph on display is after a surgery he had to remove a benign skin tumor on his head...hence 8/9 lives.
