Oh the Places We Went

Wow. Did you realize we lived in 6 different places together, all in 16 years.

When I got you from the pet store I was renting that icky trailer at college in Cortland.

Then we moved to a second floor apartment on Cleveland Ave, you used to love to dash up and down the stairs and sit on the counter where you could overlook people coming in.

Then off to Syracuse we went. If I had to guess I think this was your favorite home. You loved to slide on the wood floors and look out the windows.

Them we moved to Binghamton and lived in that cramped one bedroom apartment, neither of us really liked that one did we.

Then we rented a very nice apartment in Hallstead. You used to love to watch the suicidal cardinal throw himself into the living room window over and over again.

Finally we moved back to Binghamton into the house I bought. You had it all here, stairs, windows and a back yard. Sadly you only got a few months here before you passed away.

Through all moves you were right by my side. You hated the moving but you adjusted perfectly and quickly to each new place. How am I going to move the next time without you to help me? I love you baby girl.

A million kisses and tears,
Mommy

Some of my favorite memories of you....

Taz,

I am sitting here trying to focus on all the fun you brought into my life and a few moments keep popping back into my head over and over, so I thought I would share them with everycat.

I remember how you used to rule the house and no matter what it was going to be done your way, sometimes this took some pretty bizarre turns. I don't think I will ever forget the visit I had in the hospital from my friend Chris who was feeding you. He showed up in his "Turnout Gear" (the coat and pants fire fighters wear) when I asked him if he had just come from a call, he laughed and said no, he had just come from feeding you. It seemed the two days before you had made it very known to his arms and legs that you wanted me and not him, so he was now "suiting up" to come feed you. You weighed 5 lbs and you were able to bring down a 200 lb fire fighter!!!! And the funniest part was he said you purred the whole time you were doing it.

Or how about when my nephew Ben (3 at the time) came to visit. He kept running at you full speed yelling "kitty kitty" and you would dash under the bed. Everyone else thought you were hiding, I knew better, you were torturning him by staying just far enough under there so he couldn't get you. He spent most of that weekend with his feet sticking out from under the bed trying to get you while you slept peacefully in the middle.

How about the night I woke up to you chasing the bat around the apartment. I think that bat wanted away from you more than anything!

I think my single favorite memory of you though was Chanukah every year. You were mesmerized by the Menorah and would see me get out the matches and go and sit by it. You would sit there til the blessings were said and the candle burned out. Then and only then would you jump down and go about your life. It was if you knew.

Thank you for all the smile and laughs!

A million kisses and tears,

Mommy

Well baby girl, mommy finally did it and added your to Catster so the world could see how precious you were. Doing this was almost as hard as letting you go. It has been 14 months since you left and I still cry every time I think of you. But as painful as putting this page together was I knew I had to do it, you were a good Jewish kitty and that first year has passed and you needed your "headstone" and to be remembered. I know I will never post in any of the forums under your name, it wouldn't be right, but I will use your diary to remind the world you were here and how special you were and how much I love you. So many tell me you were only a ball a fur and I should be over it by now but I'm not and don't think I will ever be. I love your new brother and sister very very much (you would hate Chester by the way *smile* you would think he was a waste of fur for how silly he can be - however I think he would have been your shadow and adored you. I do think you would have loved Winnie, she is a lot like you, compassionate, loving, sensitive and she rules the house just like you used to).

I miss you so much my little one and I just hope I can make this page do you proud.

A million kisses and tears,
Mommy
