Quite appropriate considering his rescue.

I was devastated by the loss of my"Girls"
Belle and Boogie, to the pet food recall.
I didn't think I could put myself through loving or
losing another! I resisted for some time.
The emptiness was overwhelming,
And I was not alone in my grief,
Beaser the Bratcat was grieving too.
The miracle of Riley entering our lives
officially began on July 2, 2007
His previous owner didn't want him any longer,
and I am sure Riley knew it.
I took one look at this big, handsome boy and my heart melted.
I literally laid eyes on him for the first time when his
previous owner met me in a grocery store parking lot with
every dog item including the food/water feeders.
It was obvious he didn't want any dog again.
No sooner then Rileys leash hit my hand, that man was GONE!
I had concerns naturally because where I live there is also
a beautiful rescued husky mix Jewel, with diabetes and she
is 95% blind, as well as another cat, Morgan.
Day 1 was a whirlwind,
I can only imagine what Riley was thinking.
I drove him home praying everything would go smoothly.
He was a bit antzie, and I sensed he was unsure and insecure
about home, and if indeed he had one.
I decided not to make any introductions on this first day.
Maybe, I thought, If I take him to the dog park few other dogs would be there at that time and by again coming back home he would understand that YES, this is now, and forever his home.
When we got home he did relax, but showed no interest in food. Bio: ADOPT 09 CONTEST
Day 2 was a true miracle!
I watched as
Riley and Jewel had an unexpected 1st meeting
(I didn't know she was out)
Hair stood on end, low growels were heard,
and nothing else. It didn't take Riley long to realize
Jewel couldn't really see him.
Morgan stood his ground when he met Riley, t
hey sniffed each other and moved on satisfied.
Beaser was a bit more skeptical. He ran.... Then,
Last night I witnessed a sight I really didn't think was
possible to happen so soon,
Beaser walked up to Riley and gave him
his special kitty bump.
There are no fences here, we live way out on acreage
filled with trees. And Riley has decided that no fence's
are a good thing, because he's home finally,
and perfectly content.
Riley's (real) story resembles a spy movie,
Just play the Video, it says it all.
